dry.gif Hubby is VERY HAPPY , me messaged me a few minutes ago) because he managed to get premium tickets this AM to Bab's concert at the Millennium Dome.

ohmy.gif We're apparently going with two other couples, and he wants to make a big party out of the occasion.

blink.gif How do I tell him I went to her concert the 2nd time she 'retired' (because it was a once in a lifetime opportunitty), and the 3rd time she 'retired' (because a friend bought tickets), and to her farewell concert (because I was saying thank you to a couple friends)... and I'm not really a fan (I KNOW OK: now you can take away my family membership card, ALRIGHT?)... I think her better singing days are behind her.

The things we do for love...

ITJ, Precious One,

Oh my dear, quelle catastrophe! To be subjected to Ms. Streisand's caterwauling not once, but THREE TIMES and now to face a FOURTH ---- well, the mind reels. And the eardrums tremble in anticipated horror.

But, Dearest, regarding Poor Iain and his sadly misplaced sense of propriety, not to mention his questionable musical taste --- well, his heart is in the right place. (Would that one could say the same about his teeth!) This is a true test of your Love, and you simply must put your critical faculties on hold for two hours while you try to endure what many people would give their firstborn to attend. A Great Sacrifice, yes, but one that is required.

And, just put yourself in the place of those who attended your birthday party a few years ago --- you know, the one with your infamous Speedo display --- that was two interminable hours of excruciating embarrassment for all the unfortunate attendees, but we survived! You must harden your heart (and your eardrums), Babushka, and remember that this, too, shall pass.

And, Pet, it could be worse ---- Thank goddess it's not Celine Dion!

Oh, and how is the house hunting proceeding? I hear there's a stunning new development just under the Stansted flight path that's quite affordable!

My, after all this musical discussion, I must put on some Florence Foster Jenkins to restore my sensibilities. Ooooooo, there's the phone; must dash! Do give my best to Mrs. Brolin when you visit backstage after the "concert!"

All my love,
SFD

IT, you have my sincerest wishes. Babs is certainly not in my top 10 of singers to see in concert. Maybe not even in my top 100. Yet, I am in quite the similar boat as you, since the B/f absolutely adores her. Thankfully, I have not been cursed with concert tickets. tongue.gif
