Ok, DC-area Outsporters, tonight's the night! The Pride Festivus will be at Cobalt (upstairs from FoodBar, across from the Dupont Italian Kitchen) at 6:30 p.m.

Come one, come all. Just be sure to be nice to William1865, who may appear in widow's weeds (seersucker, of course).

I was really hoping to be able to get out of work early and come down there for the next DC gathering, but I guess that is easier said than done. Hopefully, next time - have a great evening, and my condolences to the grieving widow.

Your friendly DC area Metro guy provides you with this Metro advisory from www.wmata.com. smile.gif

"Metrorail beginning peak service at 1 p.m. to help clear congestion
Metro will start running peak service at 1 p.m. to help workers downtown return home before traffic becomes snarled by the closing of Constitution Ave. for this evening's Reagan funeral procession. District officials will close Constitution Ave. at 3 p.m. to all traffic between 1st Street, NE, and 23rd Street, NW. This closure will cause numerous Metrobus detours and severe traffic congestion downtown throughout the evening rush hour. Officials are urging motorists to leave town early. As a result, the federal government is allowing employees to take unscheduled leave. Likewise, D.C. government employees can request liberal leave beginning at 2 p.m. Mourners wishing to pay respects to Reagan at the Capitol, please see the notice below."

I guess this means that federal/DC Outsporters will have a several-hour jump on the rest of us. wink
stinger85
That just means you start with appletinis in both hands!!

Have fun! If mdphl is there (as he mentioned he might) be sure and tell him the Phillie Phanatic sends his love! wink

We city employee OutSporters, though, are stuck here in this blazing hot office until 5.00 p.m.
I need to go home and change--the shirt and tie thing is not very comfortable in 92 degrees (F).
...will probably be a little late.

Thanks for thinking of me JIP (glad I could take your mind off the Reagan thread biggrin.gif ).

Because of RR, I'm staying away from DC tonight. My client who I was going to visit has offices near the Capitol and they were closing at 1.

Have fun all - hope I can get to meet you soon.

I'm outta here! I hope to see you guys! I'll be the one shirtless @ Pride. tongue.gif

The silence on this thread is glaring. We want all the gory details!
Joe in Philly
My guess is they all got drunk on appletinis and the orgy is continuing as we speak. wink
Gaga4Gaby
The word "Festivus" entertains the hell out of me.
Trevor
There was nothing of interest to post here.

Damn it guys, you have to understand that we folk out in the middle of nowhere live vicariously through you Outsporters that get together frequently. If nothing was interesting to report, make something up!

We also want to know how GJ is doing, after her minor surgery, if cancer surgery can ever be "minor."

So give it up people. biggrin.gif
pat125
Actually, it was a nice, low-key get together with about 10 DC area Outsporters, and one from NJ. It was nice to see the guys and lady that I first met last July at the first DC Outsporters get together, especially Cattledog wink . Thanks to GatorJamie for organizing this. Actually, I forgot to ask Jamie how she is faring after the surgery (my bad), but she looked great to me. I'm afraid that I can't report anything earthshattering or scandalous, but I had a great time last night.
William1865
Cattledog and I discussed our mutual admiration for Snoopy and the entire Peanuts gang. People kept saying they were surprised I wasn't wearing black, I had no idea what they were talking about (my mourning Reagan's death) and was quite paranoid by the time I figured it out.
GatorJamie
Yeah, ditto here (pat). I'm feelin' great, you guys are lookin' great, and it was a nice time.

pat - no bad on your part! You are mah-ve-lous.

I'm glad I stopped at two appletinis, though. Was it just me or were those drinks strong? eek!

gj

p.s. Where the f*** was DCBucky?

Scottie, I have too much respect for you to inform you of all the graphic details that occurred last night at Cobalt, and afterwards. I am sure that my bruises will heal, as will the others. We all eventually will find ways to emotionally recover from the events of 09 June 2004.
I am sorry, I- I- just can't go on...
GatorJamie
Hey, it wasn't me with the new "PF iz Da Man" tattoo. That was all you, Cattledog. I can't believe you and Pat copied William so cravenly.
BPT-336
Hey! Where can I get that tatoo??
GatorJamie
On your right buttcheek, just like William, Cattledog, and Pat.
BPT-336
Of course! Cause PhillyFan never does anything "left" biggrin.gif
