I have the daunting duty of "home for the holidays" with my parents coming up over Thanksgiving. I haven't been there for about 5 years (I'm sooooo bad), and was just wondering if the gay club scene has changed any. A gay sports bar would be cool since there's a lot of sports over that holiday, but just about any other suggestions are welcome.
I'm visiting Fri 11/16 through Thurs 11/22. My partner is going with me and my younger brother from Austin is meeting us there (he's gay too). Any ideas for fun things in that time-frame??? I'd also like to meet some fellow outsporters in that area just in case I have to do the holiday thing again anytime soon!

Greetings from Dallas, Texas. I was born and raised in the El Paso County area. Been in Dallas since 1973, I still visit the family on holidays, funerals, and some weddings....when I have to! Though there is over a million people in the El Paso/Juarez/Las Cruces area, there seems to be very little if any outlet for gay athletic supporters or sports bar, or gay people in general.
I will be in the area for a week during the Christmas holidays, if you are in the area, perhaps we can meet up and explore El Paso and Las Cruces together! Have a couple of friends, who might know where the action is!
Las Cruces has Mesilla Park, a cool haunted restaurant in the Placita. Let me know...

Just got back from my Thanksgiving visit to EP. Very boring, but I got to pig out on great Tex-Mex at Griggs, Avila's, Riviera, Lucy's and La Posta (in Mesilla)! I never made it out to any gay bars, but I don't think I missed much, my memory of gay bars in EP is not favorable. Maybe it's changed, but the city is quite negative on gays, and sometimes pretty dangerous (but I won't get into that right now).
Sorry, but I won't be back in EP over the Xmas holidays. I'll keep you in my address book in case things change though!
