Does anybody know of any gay leagues in the Durham/Raleigh area?

I am moving from the San Francisco Bay Area and belong to both types of leagues here and was wondering if something like that existed in Durham/Raleigh.

And you're damn good at both, Roy -- we're gonna miss you buddy! I'm sure there's gay softball in R/D.

I know that they have plenty of tennis down there. My gay friends usually just played in the "str8" leagues down there though.
I am not into softball as much, so I can't speak on that subject.
Now, if you were asking about volleyball, I could speak with some real expertise...

The nearest NAGAAA softball league to Raleigh-Durham is in, I believe, Norfolk, although some of the boys from Charlotte play in Atlanta's league.

Given the lack of an NC presence, you should email NAGAAA and ask them about whether there had been previous inquiries, or perhaps if there had been fledgling attempts to get a league off the ground there. Sometimes they know of folks who have tried to get something going, but it never happened. They may able to put you into contact with people, or perhaps give you some good tips.

From the sound of it though, there are probably gay guys playing in the straight leagues...I'm sure your paths will cross.

rcorona, I don't know about the rdu area, but there is a new softball league in the Greensboro-Winston-Salem area, they have just had one season and it was for novices and experts combined. I can email you the address of my friend who played if you want.

Not to be a downer, but from past experience NC gay folks arent very into organization unless it has to do with a drag show smile.gif The community there is still about 10 yrs behind. Though I had quite a bit of friends in the Triangle area who played tennis.
