Gotta love it when a coach talks trash even b4 the season begins. rolleyes.gif

Love this quote:

QUOTE
Such has become a common refrain since the Trojans' rise to dominance under Carroll: If USC played in a "real" conference, they'd lose xxx number of games. Regardless of how you feel about the Pac-10, this is a pretty idiotic sentiment seeing as the Trojans have continually beaten upper-echelon foes from those conferences under Carroll (including a 4-0 record against the SEC).

And mind you I don't have a problem w/ any conference cuz I love cfb so much. Even after this article I still won't hate a conference/team cuz it comes w/ the territory in college ball.

We'll see how the season plays out. Fight on!

Now if Coach Karl Dorrell had said this, it might carry some weight. Otherwise, it's very much meaningless and Coach Dorrell wouldn't trash talk like this goofy LSU coach did.

Typical SEC mantra. I guess Miles wasn't paying attention when USC put up half a hundred on the SEC West Champs at Arkansas last year. Miles needs to actually win the SEC championship before he starts hurling comments at other teams from other conferences.
Rob
Don't forget USC put up 70 points on Arkansas in '05 and took care of Auburn quite easily before that. I'm not surprised at Miles' comments, though. Football season never ends in the Southeast and the recruiting battle goes on year round.

A good article about Senor Miles. IPB Image IPB Image

Reread his full quote. He didn't call out USC...just said LSU has a tougher road to the BCS NC game than USC. Washington, Stanford, etc. is who he was calling out, if anyone.

For what it's worth LSU is 4-0 against the Pac 10 during that same time period. smile.gif

And under Carroll USC is 4-0 against the SEC (including away games). smile.gif

What an ass....Coach Miles, if you believe this, play it out on the field. Poor tiggers, you have a tough road to the BSC. I guess teams like my Vols and the Gators have a cake walk. Grow up Mr. Miles.

From Les Miles at the SEC Media Days in AL today. Miles at SEC Media Days

Q. A few weeks ago did you mean to call out USC at that luncheon for WWL, or did you get caught up in the moment?

COACH MILES: I don't think I called out USC in any way. I think it was a feel of a strong SEC conference, enjoyment, the competition, how difficult it is to come through a tremendous schedule, an SEC schedule, then play a championship game, and then go on and have an opportunity to play in a nationally significant game.

I just think it's a little easier to come from a conference that there is no championship game. Whoever the champion is from the PAC 10, I think they'll be a great football team. We'd look forward to meeting anybody in the post season.

No, I wasn't calling out USC in any way.

**Also, 2 of LSU's wins were on the road in their 4-0 record against the PAC 10

Hmmm, I think this is called preaching to the choir. While I think the SEC is usually the strongest conference in cfb, I'm also kinda tired of hearing the SEC talk about same. However, no LSU coach is going to fall out of favor in Baton Rouge for dissing the Pac-10 any time soon.
