Okay, now that my beloved and fantastic Patriots are on their way to the big game, it's time to roll out the red carpet for my Outsports friends. I am more than willing to host a Super Bowl party in my humble abode, just want to see the interest level to make a go/no go decision.
Non-Outsportsters are welcome to attend, and I will likely be inviting some folks from outside our little world as well. Please reply and let me know if you'd like to attend.
Go Patriots! (Panthers fans are invited, but warned this will be a partisan house).

I'm certainly willing and able to attend (with food and beverages in hand, of course

)....it might be a bit tougher to root for Tom Brady over Jake Delhomme now after Tommy's appearance in DC supporting W last night but perhaps that can be overlooked.
Kudos to Cpt_Doom (Mr. IML 2004?

) for graciously offering his humble abode again for what would undoubtedly be a fun few hours....any other feedback from the growing contingent of DC area Outsporters yet?

I am a definite... maybe. I will be in New York that weekend, and while I do return on Sunday, it will be sometime in the late afternoon. This is really nice of you, though--and, unlike the World Series, I really don't give a damn who wins.

I'm out too! But what does that have to do with having another party... ?
Nevermind.
You guys have a great time at the SB party! Wish I could be there...

Bad news: looks like BG and I aren't going to be able to make it. I didn't realize that the SB was Feb. 1 and double-booked us.
Sorry. Hope the Pats win.

Since the response has been less than overwhelming, I have a suggested change to the plans - what about meeting up at Titan, where they are showing the game on the wide screen - $12 pitchers, and best of all - I don't have to clean up afterwards!

I might try to make it. It sounds like it'd be good times.

I think I can make it. Where is Titan, anyway?

Since I'll be in town, count me in. Where is the place, and is it easily accessible by Metro? (had to edit the word subway oops!)

Titan is the bar above Hamburger Mary's. It's on 14th street between Rhode Island Ave. and N street. The closest Metro stop would probably be Dupont. Some might know its location by its proximity to the Crew Club. wink

Thanks, Shawn. I should be back from New York in time on Sunday!

Hi all,
Yes, shawnq got it right. It's right by the Subway, "Beer Barrel" and across from the 7-11 on the corner of 14th and Rhode Island (the new gay strip/hang out everyone's talking about!). It is easy to spot, has a garage door front and a big gay flag waving in the wind.
I can't make it unfortunately, I have a gathering to go to. But if it gets boring, I will stop in, since I live right around the corner anyway (convienent isn't it?

)
toodles,

By the way, what general time are we meeting up (and don't say "before the game starts!")?

Okay, this is what I am thinking. I want to get there early to get a good spot, so I am thinking of getting there around 5 PM - we probably can start meeting then (if I can find it, I will be wearing a very hideous Pats sweatshirt - unfortunately with their ugly logo, there is no way to find an attractive one).

I'm guessing that you liked the bent-over Patriot a
lot more... wink

A bunch of the Renegades rugby team are going to be there for the Super Bowl, too, so maybe I'll see some of you there...

How did this go? Sorry I missed it, I was a bit hungover. All-nighter Saturday. Didn't make it to my buddy's SB party until 7ish, like President Bush I fell asleep at one point, but I did see the nipple incident.

William, I can only speak for myself, but after meeting Cattledog, and CPT_Doom and his friends, I had a good time. Great game, plenty of beer, and eye candy thanks to the rugby teams wink (but WAY too much PDA by the bar) Throughout the night, I thought CPT_Doom was trying to get elected Pope crossing himself before every New England play.
After the game, I staggered back to my hotel and had dreams of Justin Timberlake ripping off my bodice in the moonlight.
