Anyone from Outsports going to gay day at the Nationals game next Monday night?

That's this Monday? Already? Jeez. I was sort of thinking of making the trip down there. Hmmm.

It's Monday July 16th, organized by the nice people at Team DC.

I must've not been paying attention, I thought the Nats were out of town for awhile, but it's a quick road trip. I didn't realize the Astros were coming here (cause we haven't been there this season). I'm off Monday so I'll probably go.

Well, I just got my ticket - I was supposed to be at a work meeting that evening, but it was cancelled. I am psyched after missing last year's that I get to go this year. Hope the Nats don't stink up the place.

With Bacsik pitching tonight I wouldn't hold out too much hope. His last few outing haven't been good, but it will fun night anyway, win or lose.

Great crowd, great turnout, great after party, great win! Gay fans filled up about 7 sections of the upper bowl. The Nat's delivered an exciting win thanks in large part to D-Young's amazing shot in the 6th. The after party at Nellie's was packed . The Gay Men's Chorus of Washington's rendition of the National Anthem was one of the best I've ever heard at RFK. What a fun night!

It was a great night. I'm so glad the Nats won on a night like this and in spectacular fashion. It's funny, but the last game I went to (Cubs/Nats) was won by a Young homer. He's been really good for the team. I heard today though that he's on the trading block. It's to be expected, and he said he'd like to say on, but that was always the plan. I hate to see him go. And it's really going to hurt the team offensively.

I was there with my straight friends (all of the gay men I know hate sports). They're extremely gay friendly though and we had a good time hanging out with the rest of the Night Out crowd. Fun was had by all. Lots of nice eye candy too ;-).

Night Out with the Nationals III was another big success. I'm told by the pres. of Team DC that there were 2,042(!) people in the LGBT section. "The Gay Men's Chorus sang the National Anthem (second year in a row and were postively fantastic) and we had a member of the community throw out the First Pitch. He was Cornelius Baker, who is the former head of the National Association of People with AIDS, among other accomplishments. We had received about 15 nominations from the community covering a broad spectrum of people." The Washington Blade is supposed to be doing an article and posting pictures in their next issue.
