I've been doing a weekly stint on the D'Marco Farr Show on ESPN-710 every Thursday. Next week D'Marco is gone for a few days and I've been asked to fill in as co-host with Kevin Kiley next Monday and Tuesday, July 23-24. Kevin brought me onto the show a few months ago - we had worked together on the Kiley & Booms Show years ago.

I hope some of you can tune in! We won't just be hitting gay-sports stories; in fact, that will probably be a small part of it.

Cool! Marking it on my calendar. I usually don't listen to that station, but will have to catch the last hour or so of it. I will be able to hear the 1st 15 minutes though (I'll be on my way to teach my 2nd class).

Listened to the show live yesterday & today (but only for a lil time yesterday). I REALLY enjoyed all of the talk on sports today, BUT the:

1. "When did you know you were gay?"...
2. "Looking @ dad's Playboy magazines"...
3. Kevin's question, "Do you like my pecs?" (to Cyd)...
4. & of course, when that last caller wanted you guys to focus on baseball, basketball, sports, etc & Kevin gave him a chance, then cut him off & said he was enjoying the above questions/conversations more, were just too great to miss! ...

So, you find Drew hot, ha? Actually he is a lil cutie. Great show overall. And thanks for representing us on a radio show like that. And of course kudos to Kevin & D'Marco for having you.

Thanks. It was fun. Kevin is great. A real pro. Drew is cute, but totally, 100% straight and married. I didn't mind the "gay" talk. The show is part sports, part life, and I thought it was cool that Kevin would have fun with it like that on an ESPN radio show.

Cyd, I listened to the podcast where you were describing your coming out process. Unfortunately the podcast cut off and did not finish, so I couldn't hear the rest of the show. How did most of the callers react to what amounted to an interview of you by Kevin? Were most accepting or even interested, or did they just want to talk sports. I am curious how that segment would have played in other ESPN media markets outside of LA.

Before Kevin started asking me the questions, he and the producer said we'd get some negative calls. Instead, we didn't get any calls. Over those couple of days, there were a couple positive calls, which was great. But I think people mostly just listened to sports radio - and maybe got a chuckle when I talked about walking a chihuahua down Santa Monica Blvd.

Cyd, Congrats on the great job!! That has always been sort of a dream of mine to host a sports show. I listened to the podcast and it was great!
