My guess was that Extra is based in NY and he went there from wherever he lives in the off-season to film the segment. Flyers website doesn't say where he lives now, just that he was born in New Brunswick. If he lives there in the summer I doubt Extra is sending a camera crew there.

What's really strange is, he's only played in 99 games in the NHL, 66 of them this past season. With the two defensemen the Flyers picked up this summer, there's no guarantee he'll be in the NHL in 2007-08. So essentially Extra has a relatively unknown hockey player as one of "America's Most Eligible."

You guys are such pessimists. My god he's Canadian! Anything is possible.

I bet the first guy to send him a bouquet of flowers (stick in a maple leaf) on his birthday (Monday July 23 for those interested) could strike up an enduring relationship that could go.....anywhere.
