Posted a profile and review of Christopher Bergland, a gay ultra-endurance athlete, who has written an engaging exercise book, "The Athlete's Way." He is an interesting guy who used exercise as a cynical gay teen to pull himself together.

As a beginner endurance athlete I VERY MUCH appreciate you guys covering him and have already read the book. (Jim and Cyd I will be getting your book too but might wait until my Ironman is done, just to keep from sports overload)

There is good stuff in there! Some of it I am using now for my training both mental and physical.

This is my type of athlete! I might enjoy some of the team sports, but understand Chris more than I do them!

Thanks for covering something that is so important to me.

more ENDURANCE PLEASE~ smile.gif

Thanks,

Drew

Hey Drew:
We always welcome submission from athletes (hint, hint).

I met Chris in NYC last month and he is a super-engaging and interesting guy.

I will let you know how things go with my race report.

I might (if I am feeling confident) post the way for people to watch the webcast of or follow my bib # during the race.

It's my first ironman so the goal is to get to the end before time is up..........16:59.

Chris has been kind enough to respond to my emails with some helpful advice and I appreciate his valuable information in the book. It can help for either beginner, moderately experience(me), novice, or serious athletes.

More Chris......!!!

Best,

Drew

P.S. There are gay pro athletes out there doing Ironman MUCH faster than I do, talk to them about submitting.......they would probably have flashier stories than my version of "I swam, I biked for hours, I hobbled for hours."
