[b]Hey guys big time UCLA sports fan here.... all sports... football season ahead of us !! ONLY ONE MORE MONTH... live and die for college football season .. nothing better than starting out a Saturday morning with GameDay and then progressing to either watching all day or going out to the RoseBowl to see the Bruins .. we have a great home schedule this year and this is the year that Dorrell has to put up or shut up. Go to the RoseBowl with other gay guys and always looking for other masculine guys to join us .. tailgating and football ? is there anything better ? so looking for local buds to share my enthusiasm for college football .. love the Bruins ! but also love Auburn ! WAR EAGLE .... so lets get together and have some beers infront of the tube or at the RoseBowl !!

UCLA should be very good this year. The win against SC could be a prelude of things to come.

They will be second fiddle, unfortunately, to USC. The bad news for this season is that the wide receivers coach has already been arrested for breaking and entering in the commission of a theft. rolleyes.gif

I already have my Rose Bowl tickets for September 8th! Ironically this is going to be a matchup of two strong defenses this year.

UCLA should be favored by at least two touchdowns over BYU this year. Max Hall is starting his first game at QB against Arizona the week before the UCLA game. Ben Olson would be throwing for BYU IF he wasn't a worthless scumbag traitor wink.gif BYU's fighting injuries and suspensions including their starting corner that went down with a season ending foot inury last week. I know UCLA is going to overwhelm BYU, but if the BYU defense can just put a little pressure on Olson (ie rip his head off), it could stay close for a half at least.

UCLA will be BYU's third straight Pac-10 opponent in a row with Oregon (38-8 beatdown!) Arizona and UCLA. Hopefully, BYU will have won eleven straight games by the time they get to the Rose Bowl. I can't wait!!

I have season tix but my business travel schedule has me missing to of the best games (Notre Dame & Cal). I'm going to see the opener at Stanford over Labor Day weekend and hope to get down for the remaining games. Let's hope the Bruins don't underachieve this year, something they've been prone to do in the past. -BB

I feel confident in making a few predictions:

1. USC will not win the national championship.

2. A Pac-10 team currently rated 5th or below in preseason league polls will surprise and end up as high as 3rd.

3. At least 10 teams in the national preseason top 25 polls will bite the dust and end out of the rankings.

4. Florida will not end up in the top ten.

5. There will be at least 2 so-called midmajor teams that have to beg for respect, despite their record or how good they are. One might make a BCS bowl but both won't.

6. And, as always, Florida State is overrated. At least Miami is finally recognized where it ought to be in the preseason polls.

Let's see if I'm as full of it as most of the prognosticators are!

P.S Is anyone (MDB?) going to start the official Pac-10 thread?

We'll be there at 8 am ... look for the group of predominantly UCLA fans with four BYU fans hanging around!

WTF happened to the Bruins against Utah???

WTF happened to the Bruins against Utah???

did Urban Mayer make a trip back to Salt Lake?

Ill RepUTE
The Utes' defense stiffened up at just the right times in the first half, making UCLA settle for two field goals and a 14-6 score. What really changed the game was during the third quarter, a fumble by UCLA, forced by Robert Johnson (MWC player of the week) into the end zone on what would have been the touchdown to bring the Bruins within one. From then on it seemed like the Bruins were scratching their heads the rest of the game, and the Utes just took advantage.

I still don't think the Utes are that great but we're definitely not going 0-12 wink.gif

they were scratching something

not sure if it was their heads

Damn! We lose again against Notre Dame. This one hurts, but with a walk-on quarterback, I guess there's not much you can do. Still, all the penalties and missed opportunities will cause me a sleepless night.
theodoresdaddy
never mind
