So now that we have more DC people here, does anyone want to get together somewhere to watch games on Sunday? If not this week (Being that it's Friday), maybe we can plan for next week?

Trevor -- that'd be fun -- can't do it this Sunday. We usually go to either a Packer or a Steeler bar -- depending on the schedules -- but anyplace is fine as long as the games are on...

I'm kind of a flake on Sundays (kind of my do nothing, no responsibilities to anyone days) but my boyfriend and I would probably come by if it's planned.

Sounds like a great idea to me Trevor....this Sunday won't work but I'm all for getting together and enjoying some pigskin action (even if GeorgeV-F and a few others are up in NYC -- with all of the DC area folks on this board now we oughta be able to get a decent group together)....and as Joe in Philly recently mentioned seeing some NHL action in person at MCI isn't a bad idea either.

I'm sure I could make it some Sunday...if not the Sunday in November when I'm actually in town for the weekend, then on another Sunday.

Okay, so I don't go out a lot, especially in DC. Where's a good place to go? For fun, Dave & Busters would always be fun.

I'm just resurrecting this thread so anyone who's interested in getting together when I'm in DC for Veterans Day weekend, you can mark your calendars for 2 weeks from tomorrow (and I got my ticket for the Flyers game on the Saturday night of that weekend).

I'm reviving this one more time...I'm leaving for DC Thursday and I don't think I'm taking my laptop and thus won't be able to access my e-mail after that. So any suggestions as to where I can go on Sunday to watch the Eagles and other NFL games (need to be close to the Metro) would be appreciated...and if anyone wants to meet me there or if anyone is going to the Flyers-Caps game Sat. night and wants to meet there, let me know.

joe,
I'll be at the Caps game on Sat. I will try to not accost you, especially if you wear a flyer's jersey. Then i may not even talk to you!
I'd still like football somewhere, if peopel are intersted.

We sometimes watch NFL games at the Capitol Lounge on Capitol Hill (Penn. Avenue SE) -- it's near the Capitol South and Eastern Market metro stations. Bit of a crowded dive, but still a good place.
I'm sure the Eagles will be on one of the TVs (the Steelers and Pack used to control the place, but they've moved down the block to the Penn Avenue Pourhouse and Hawk & Dove).

Crowded, eh? Hmmm. Well, unless anyone has a better idea I guess I can make it there.
And Trevor, come up and say hello. I'll wear my Outsports cap along with my Flyers shirt. Will that help?

I don't know that football this weekend is going to work for me. Something has come up, and I'm not sure I can make it. We'll see.
Will still be at teh Caps game on Sat. Joe, where are your seats?

Oh okay, you are on the other side of the ice from me. I will end up being over that way between periods to see my friend Lisa, if she's there. She's been very sick, and I'm hoping she'll be there too.
Just so you know, I'll be in my white Zuburs jersey (there aren't a lot of them).

Joe -- you'll have plenty of options for the Eagles game on Sunday -- the local CBS affiliate is showing the game -- it's Channel 9 (which is channel 29 on cable).
Cap Lounge is still good to catch all the games though.

With the game on local TV, as I learned from the paper, I didn't even have to leave my hotel room if I didn't want to. But I thought it important to at least make an appearance in case anyone else showed up. So I got to meet DC Bucky! Woo-hoo! Until he had to leave and pick up his boyfriend, he got to watch his Packers massacre the Lions, while I had to sit through the Eagles-Colts debacle. Well, most of it. The bar had the game on the local station instead of the satellite dish, and CBS switched over to the Chargers-Rams game early in the fourth quarter. At that point it was 28-6 and a minute later it was 35-6 so I really didn't miss anything.
It was fun to meet Bucky, though. Hope we can do it again sometime.
On Saturday night at the hockey game, Trevor didn't come over and say hello, which was too bad...for him, seeing as how he could have gloated and gloated over the result of the game.

Didn't have much reaction to a DC Sunday night outing, but you can usually find me at Townhouse Tavern , 17th & R. I'm in a Bosox hat.
