I guess I am the entertainment reporter today. Not sure how all these stories ended up in my news aggregators.
In sad news, Brett Somers has joined colleague Charles Nelson Riley on that special all-star panel in the heavens. Brett was 83 and passed away at home over the weekend. She was suffering from cancer and was with her son when she died.
I just saw Charles in the "In Memoriam" sequence last night on the Emmy awards. Now they will have to add another face.

I recall her and Charles very well. They were the two IMO that made the show fun to watch and funny. RIP Brett.
Wasn't Brett the first Paris Hilton? Virtually unknown for anything before she married someone famous, a third-tier celebrity without having accomplished anything. Think about it - you know I'm right!

How sad. I also rember her as Oscar Madison's ex-wife on The Odd Couple. She was married to Jack Klugman at the time, no?

They married in 1953 and separated in 1974. They never divorced, which is really odd.

The main difference is that Brett had talent.Paris has money, she doesn't have any talent but she does have a lot of money.

Brett was on lots of TV shows and even did Broadway shows and continued to do cabaret shows up til pretty recently. She was nothing at all like Paris Hilton.

Isn't Richard Dawson also dead? He was the 3rd regular on Match Game.
ANd if Gene what's his name isn't dead, he must be in his 80's as well.

I think Dawson did pass away a few years back, not exactly sure when, and the other guy was Gene Rayburn, and I think he passed away too, if memory serves.

Comparing Brett Somers to Paris Hilton is like comparing the author of that statement to Einstein.
Dawson isn't dead yet.
Gene died in 1999

I thought Richard Dawson died a few years ago too. I remember hearing it. Though I think I read it this way... "Richard Dawson
blanked today at the age of 70."

So you never can be sure.

When the paramedics checked her pulse, it came up blank.
