"Iraq Revokes Security Firm’s License After Shooting
By SABRINA TAVERNISE
Published: September 17, 2007

BAGHDAD, Monday, Sept. 17 — The Iraqi government said Monday that it had revoked the license of Blackwater USA, a private security company that provides protection for top American officials in Iraq, after shots fired from an American diplomatic convoy killed eight Iraqis.

A spokesman for the Iraqi Interior Ministry, Abdul-Karim Khalaf, said the authorities had canceled the company’s license and barred its operations across Iraq. He said the government would seek to prosecute those responsible for the deaths, although according to the rules that govern private contractors here, it did not appear that the Iraqis had the legal authority to do so.

The incident took place in Baghdad on Sunday, but the details are still unclear.."

Wonder how they are going to do this; A law drawn up by the American authority in Iraq in 2004 gives security firms immunity from Iraqi law.

Isn't Blackwater essentially a private army for hire run by conservative Eric Prince. I'm sure Dubya and his administration will find other uses for them. Maybe in Iran or Afghanistan?

Erik Prince continues a long line of pretty faces with cold hearts in the Bush administration. Not only does he have problems with "homosexuals" (wonder if he can say the word gay), he puts his money where his mouth is with support of such groups as the James Dobson's Focus on the Family.

With the great success the Bush administration had using them in the post-Katrina clean-up it is not surprising that they have done such wonderful work in Iraq.

Yes, no one under their protection in Iraq has died. But who knows how many innocent Iraqis have died to burnish that reputation?

his sister married into the Amway fortune?

so is Iraq some sort of pyramid scheme?

makes sense to me

File this one under "TOO WIERD FOR WORDS". The head of the company formerly known as Blackwater may be moving to Saudi Arabia

The walking talking symbol of what went wrong in Iraq under Bush II may be avoiding indictment for witness murder charges.

From inheriting a car parts magnate fortune to overcharging the government to wage an unjust war while carrying out a self-appointed messianic devotion to killing muslims.

Apparently he assumes the Sunni Saudis make exceptions for Shite Iraqis who might fall into line with those in Iran and overshadow the Saudis. Wake me when it's over.
