While he was considered a great humanitarian for his charitable efforts, he held the Blackhawks back in the last decade or so. He refused to allow home games to be televised locally. Until the Khabibulin signing in 2005 he wouldn't spend money on salary. The way the team has been run has caused attendance in one of the Original Six cities to plummet. Let's hope that whoever takes over does a better job.

Got that right...He took the team off of free tv back in the early 70s, and they've been playing to about 60% capacity at the United Center thanks to his management...
