Yay, Kevin + Scotty! Congratulations!
That last scene when Kevin comes home and tells Scotty about his day, and realizes that that is what he wants in life. So sweet. What a great proposal. I'm so happy: a happy ending for a gay character. Yay!

How good is Dave Annable? OMG, he almost brought me to tears when he told Rebecca to get out.

Jeffrey, you were a close second. Saul drove into a tree, he just didn't die.
It might have been cool to see him go out like Willy Loman and save the family through his life insurance.
I was excited to see the final scene and thought to myself that it was cool to see the gay brother be the solid, moral compass of the family in the middle of the storm. It took me a bit to get that he was about to propose to Scotty...I totally started crying. That scene alone is worth the entire season on DVD!

Jeffrey, you were a lot closer with your prediction than I was with mine. Saul didn't commit suicide, but he did attempt it. It makes sense now, why Saul would go behind Sarah's back like that. Don't get me wrong, it is still a horrible betrayal and was absolutely wrong of him, but at least I can understand what fueled him to do something like that. And kudos to Sarah for 1) not mentioning Saul's deceit and taking the fall, and 2) for accepting responsibility that her schoolgirl behavior (not wanting to tell Graham herself) was both unprofessional and at least part of the reason the calamitous Golden Plum deal ended up going through.
Rebecca didn't save the day with her trust fund, but the Ojai/Walker Landing merger creates a lot more possibility for drama. Wow, as if Sarah and Holly didn't have enough reason before to hate each other. Of course Rebecca couldn't save the day, because she was dealing with so much drama of her own. While I do think Rebecca was being too harsh, and I can't fault Holly for defending herself the way she did, at some point Holly has to own up to how horribly duplicitous she was, both to Rebecca and William (and by extension, the whole Walker clan). And as much as Holly might insist that she did it for Rebecca's financial security, she can't deny that deceiving William into thinking Rebecca was his gave her (Holly) power over William that she would never have otherwise.
David Annable was just amazing tonight, both in the hilarious scene with Kevin about his feelings about Rebecca and the dead-serious scene when he rips into Rebecca for lying. Please tell me Justin's going to calm down and forgive Rebecca. Come on, she knew for all of a few hours that she was no longer a member of this family that she had become a part of and fallen in love with. She needed time to process the loss herself. How this revelation affects the family's relationship with Rebecca and their attitude toward Holly is, shock and surprise, a situation ripe for drama.
Finally, Kevin and Scotty's wedding. Kevin's proposal was very sweet. I think the wedding will go through, but come on, since when does any marriage on this show last happily ever after? Wonder who comes in to upset the apple cart? Jason swoops in last minute as the substitute minister? Chad, having fallen on lean times with his acting career, shows up as one of the catering waiters?? (tee hee, I just crack me up sometimes)

BoSox, you gotta let us enjoy the moment, man. I can't think about Scotty and Kevin having problems just yet.

I'm too invested. They must....stay...true....
I think Holly taking over the company is the best thing ever because she really is on the show for everyone to hate. And after being the mistress who got a lot of money where else is there to go? To the company! Holly is a liar, but if I were twenty and dating a 40 year old I would probably think twice about my child's security as well.

The Kevin Scotty proposal scene was one of the best gay moments in tv history.

my bad, jay, you're right - I shouldn't spoil the moment. And what a moment it was! A gay man proposing marriage on network television!! And the terrific thing is that the show treated Kevin's romantic life exactly the same way they treat his straight siblings.
Can you really blame Holly for deceiving William about Rebecca's paternity? No, because it is so damn tough being a single mother. On the other hand, it was totally wrong of Holly to continue the deception to Rebecca when R asked Holly flat-out if David could be her father. Holly isn't some Victorian England teenager completely naive about sex and its consequences. Doing the math isn't exactly quantum physics. She selfishly lied to her own daughter because Holly needed to believe for herself that she held some special place in William Walker's life.

Gay wedding alert! The season finale of Brothers & Sisters is on tonight. From
USAToday, Kitty to officiate, Tommy to be best man, but who wears the white dress?
QUOTE
After much anticipation on the set of ABC's Brothers & Sisters, a wedding cake has arrived. The four-tier creation — adorned with flowers and blackberries — is locked in a freezer, out of sight from the curious cast members, who are wondering what the cake topper looks like.
Spotting a prop woman with the topper in her hands, Matthew Rhys — whose character, Kevin, weds in the show's Season 2 finale — calls her over. "Is it a man and a woman?" he asks. Getting a closer look, Rhys smiles and says, "Oh, it's two men. Fantastic. There were jokes made that they wouldn't be able to find two men, so they'd have to doctor the woman by adding a moustache."
* * *
Flockhart's character will officiate at the ceremony while her husband (Rob Lowe) ends up playing a key role — significant because he's a Republican senator opposed to gay marriage.
* * *
Dave Annable and Balthazar Getty, who play Kevin's brothers, have been engaging in their own teasing over Tommy being best man. "Dave's been locked in his dressing room, crying," jokes Getty. And Annable retorts: "Balthazar couldn't handle not being best man."

hmmm, I wonder why Kevin picked Tommy to be his best man instead of Justin. When Tommy was looking for a sperm donor, he asked both Justin and Kevin, and there was no way of knowing whose sperm ended up being used. Couldn't Kevin have two best men? A friend of mine did that. And how is it that Kitty officiates the ceremony? She's not a justice of the peace or anything. Anyway, I guess we'll find out tonight. Apparently Luke McFarlane has signed a long-term contract. Don't know the details, but he should be a Walker for a while.

So - sweet show, it was nice to see an actual same-sex commitment ceremony not played for laughs (a la Roseanne years ago), but not the best episode of the series. I think the proposal last week was more romantic than the actual "wedding."
Mini-spoiler Alert:
The worst part was the ABC feed went out at 10:55, just as Kevin was rushing over to Sarah's and I don't know what the big cliffhanger was!!!! Could someone take pity on me and private message me the ending?

I was over a week behind in my TiVo and watched the last 2 episodes yesterday prior to the finale last night. Wow. Loved the proposal. This show just continues to get better and better. I'm not sure there is a single series on TV I look forward to more than this one.

CPT, if you have a broadband connection, you can log onto abc.com and watch last night's episode online. I could tell you the ending, but it packed a real punch. It's better if you watch it yourself.

So, this means there is another missing Walker sibling named Ryan out there. What an interesting twist!

Well, I am glad that I was dead wrong with Saul being killed off the show. Hopefully, in the next season, he'll resume the relationship with the hunky matured guy.
Anyhoo- so there's a Ryan Walker out there. I hope they spice things up in this show by having a black sheep in the family--- because if you think of it, even though Walker kids are not perfect, they are all good eggs--- no one really steals, backstabs anyone. Now, if Ryan knows that he is an illegitimate son, looking for revenge--- oooh, maybe he'll steal Rebecca from Justin, steal their money and give Nora a heart attack. But one thing for sure, that Ryan character would be a real cutie.

Dudes...Jeffrey just gave me the answer to the riddle. Well, that and my high school civics teacher who said that a government "blackmail scandal" had to do with problems with some "Negro delivery service". He was shocked when being the only black kid in class I didn't laugh. Anyway, Ryan Walker is going to be black, as in African American-Negro-black, in addition to being the black sheep of the family who comes home angry and wants to take over the business and sleep with everyone's woman. Totally Blake Carrington's half sister, Dominique Devereaux as played by the illustrious Diane Carroll on Dynasty. I would say if he's not 1/2 black then he has to be 1/2 Latino (preferably Mexican) because being half Asian doesn't really touch on hot bed political issues like police brutality and/or immigration. In the original pilot Kevin's ex-wife was black and they had a son together but it got cut along with the original Nora who was supposed to be played by the Mom from "Eight Is Enough". Whew! I totally would not have watched the show with her as Nora.

What if a Condi like character is Ryan's mother? That'd be so hot and Kitty would have a fellow conservative to run to. And when Kevin and Scott adopt a black child Ryan will tell them "It's hard enough being African American, why do you want to add to this child's obstacles..." and then Scott would say, "Bitch, I don't know your life..."

...Clearly I'm too invested in this right now so I should go.

did i just sit on a pot full of water, lit the stove and turned the flame to high?
Jay's thoughts would really spice up the show--- however, the pic is of a white baby. So Ryan is white (or Hispanic passing white)... or, if Jay's right, he could just be a guy like Wentworth, who some people would think he's white when he's actually AA... which I think they should really go for and make GOP Kitty drench her panties.
But knowing the networks, I feel that they may not go this route because to them, they already crossed the racial barrier with Danny Glover's character. So, it would be awhile I think before we see a non anglo introduced in the show.
