Yet another GOP Senator about to leave, but it's sad he has to due to a degenerative brain disease. I weep for him and his family, because I'm guessing his last days aren't going to be easy on everyone. I'd imagine a brain disease as being a slow, sad end.

I know an elderly lady who suffers from the same degenerative brain disease as Domenici. It is a dreadful illness. I don't like republicans but I wish him a life free from pain.

I'm sorry to hear about his illness. I hope he doesn't suffer.

It's good that he's leaving office, though. He supported and voted for Clinton's impeachment, has repeatedly voted for right-wing policies over the years, including almost always in support of Bush-Cheney, and was involved in trying to force out US Attorney David Iglesias. All of this basically wiped out the good he did for people with mental health issues.
