Full Version: Board Navigation Problems
Outsports Discussion Board > Outsports > About the Board

Recently I've had navigation problems going from page to page on the board. Seems I have to double click both forwards and backwards. For the past few days it has only occured on the discussion board, but today it started on the entire Outsports site. Anyone else?

Same problem here. Having to hit the back arrow twice now all the time to navigate back.

Browser version?
hockeyTom
IE, and the problem still persists. Thanks.

Same problem here - need to 2click the back arrow. I'm using Vista.
Baxion
Yes, it is just the back button, not the forward. Browser- IE

Same here. Have to click "back" twice in order to go back. Been going on for the past 4-5 days.

Normally I read a thread and then click back onto the forum index or to the board index to go to the next thread with new posts, so I never use the back buttons. Just tried it now though and had no problem. I'm using Mozilla Firefox so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I'm using IE 7.0, and I have to double click the back button when in the forums to navigate back. It's been happening for several days, thought it was just me. I don't seem to have the problem on the main web site.

I haven't changed anything on my computer but yes this week I am having to double click back to discussion board. Quite annoying.

A number of other discussion boards using a variety of forum software have been experiencing the same phenomenon this week, suggesting that an ad-server common to all may be to blame. We're getting in touch with the administrators of those boards in order to troubleshoot and solve the problem together.

In the meantime, thanks for your patience.

It's definitely the ad server. If you'll scroll down to the very bottom of the ads on the right hand side you'll find a broken link. The first click back eliminates the broken link and the second click back actually gets you back. This is the address of the ad it's trying to load.

res://ieframe.dll/http_400.htm#http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads?

Remove that and you should be fine.

when I googled "http://www.outsports.com " as I usually do, I got nothing, as if OutSports didn't even exist.

What's with this?

Thanks,

Yeah it looks like Outsports tags are missing as well. I Googled "outsports" and the first hit is www.insideoutsports.com/
TRL
same thing again today.

I wonder if that broken link is actually the Outsports tags and they are losing clicks everyday it's not fixed?
TRL
again, tried to link thru to OutSports via google, with NO result.

Jim? Cyd? Are you guys reading this?

Thanks,

Still having to double click with every attempt to maneuver.
Cyd at Outsports
Yep, we're aware of the Google issue. We're working with them, but Google moves slower than Drew Bledsoe avoiding the rush. It'll get fixed.

You guys still having to click twice? I am not, so I can't see the problem.

I thought it was a problem on my end, but I am having to double click as well.

I have tried the board on Firefox and IE, and I only have to click once. Is it possible that some of your computers have a virus? I've tried my home and work computers, and no problem.
Maddog
The problem is coming from a broken link at the bottom of the ads on the right hand side. If you scroll down to the bottom, you'll see below the last ad "The webpage cannot be found." If you are not seeing that then you are probably fine but I see it. It looks to me it might be a problem with the per click Google ads. But it's definitely still there for me. Here's what it's trying to load but cannot;

res://ieframe.dll/http_400.htm#http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads?

Maybe it has something to do with pop-up blockers.

Hmmm. I'll delete the coding - let's see if that solves the problem. Check back in 15 minutes and "refresh" the page. Thanks for your patience!
Maddog
That fixed it on my end. Thanks Cyd.
hockeyTom
Yep, that corrected the problem for me too. Thanks.
Cyd at Outsports
Great sleuthing, Maddog! We'll keep the coding off.

Looks like the same problem is now on the "Picture This" page.
