....and that Traveling Pants movie. What happened??!

You mean The Divine Secrets of The Ya-Ya Traveling Pants that Sisters Wear?

I missed most of it.....But just a guess is that Ron treated Christina like shit, Nate and Jen bitched at each other, Nicolas acted like a 23 yr old twink and made his grandfater do the hard stuff then someone came in first while someone stood next to Phil and said "Welcome to....." where ever the Pit Stop was, then TK and Rachel came in last, but it was a non-elimination.

I'm finding this season kind of bland. The contestants aren't that interesting and neither are the challenges. Also, I thought there were not supposed to be any non-elimination rounds this year but there have been 2 in the last 3 weeks.

Phil said early on that there would be 2 non-elimination legs this season. It always seems like they wait til they get to the final 4 or 5 teams before they start doing non-elimination weeks though. And I think this season only seems bland because some of the more interesting duos were eliminated early on this time around. That bitchy queen was gone in week 1 and then I think the lesbian clergy types were gone in week 2. The pinkies added some fun but they've been gone for a couple of weeks. At this point in other seasons, we usually have a gay group still left along with a team of 2 hot guys, 2 hot chicks and a pair of loathesome villains. The grandson/granddad and T.K./Rachel are all pretty mellow. Jenn's a bitch, and Ron's been an ass to his daughter but the overall level of meanness hasn't been there.

Still, I think it's been an entertaining season... nowhere near the best TAR season ever, but certainly not the worst either (the worst year I thought was the family edition, which was unwatchable for me).

I thought TK/Rachel were in the lead when they got the first flight out of Bombay (Mombai). I remember the dad of the other team talk about direct and nonstop. They got into Osaka it seems long after everyone had finished the tasks. I am glad it was a non-elimination because I like them (though Nate is really easy on the eyes).

It's an odd-mix of the teams that got cast and doesn't seem like there's much cohesion (good or bad) between the teams and I then think makes it harder to follow as there's less camroderie about the event. Maybe they haven't had time in editing to show the cohesion between the teams. Also seems like that they're in the airport during so much of these episodes, that you don't get to see much of the destination. I still enjoy the show and it's doing fairly well from a ratings perspective this season compared to others.

I think i read somewhere that Amazing Race 13 could be airing late summer.

I almost wish they'd put out some more DVDs. It's so much more fun to watch w/o the commercials. Of course, that's what Tivo is for.

I was happy that Jen was out of the race but sad for poor Nate. He needs to drop women all together and find a nice guy tongue.gif ! He was sooo sad crying last night at the end of the episode. Poor guy...not only did he lose the race he realized what raving B$%%^&CH Jen is. Now the eye candy is gone WAH!

Oh man, sounds like I missed a good episode!

That couple were pretty much at each others throats though weren't they? I still do not have a couple that I can honestly say I would prefer to win. Guess it really doesn't matter. The Father and Daughter would be fine...maybe its because the teams in this episode were overall somewhat bland to me, compared to episodes past. I did though like the challenges this time, esp. the car teeter/totter, and the underwater ride. And the stone walking looked downright painful! Ouch!!!!!

I had to laugh at Nate and Jen though. Geographicaly challenged ....who knew Thai people were from Taiwan or that the capital city was Ta-pie?? LoL, and then the whole bit at the end where Jen said they concentrated so much on the race they didnt have time to work on their relationship!! Honey you don't have a relationship and you are a total freaking b***h. Get over your self and break up. Isn't it enough that you reduced your man to tears on national TV?!
jaragonus
Tall goofy Nate will have no problems getting a better girlfriend

I thought it was a pretty good ending, and I'm glad T.K. and Rachel pulled it out. I was worried there for a while. Overall I liked the season and there ended up being some memorable teams.

Glad TK and Rachel won, but overall I would say this was the most boring and bland season ever of TAR. No exciting personalities and even the challenges did not seem overly difficult. The show needs to toughen things up.
hockeyTom
I agree with Swim on this installment....I love this show and have seen every installment since its beginning, but this group was bland beyond belief...no real teams to root strongly for or strongly against IMO..happy for the winning couple, but to be honest I missed a couple of shows, and it didn't bother me that much....hope the next group is more devious.... smile.gif

I was sad the pilot/grandpa team couldn't pull it out, the kid is a recent UI graduate. TK and Rachel were my third favorite team (goths were number 1), so I'm glad they were able to make it through.
fantomas
One of the most boring seasons ever, but very good that two decent people, TK and Rachel, won it all.

Any idea if The Amazing Race will ever return?
George Twins fan
Not sure when but it will return. In fact they will do two cycles next season.

'The Amazing Race 13' Coming this Fall
Thursday, May 15, 2008

The Amazing Race is back! Well, in September it is. Nonetheless, the critically acclaimed reality series is set to return from its longest hiatus ever in the Fall, as per CBS's recently released Fall schedule. The Amazing Race had a bizarre 2007-2008 season. It was kept off the Fall schedule, and was initially to be used as a stop gap for the impending writers' strike. It was set to air in the Winter, but when Viva Laughlin went all Viva Laughlin on the world and had to be mercifully canceled after one episode, The Amazing Race stepped in in the Fall. As a result, the season ran its course, and with no additional season in production, the usual Spring edition of The Amazing Race was absent. Fans need not worry about the future – The Amazing Race 13 will air in the Fall, and CBS is already casting for The Amazing Race 14.

In fact, The Oregonian is reporting that The Amazing Race 13's finale was recently filmed in Portland, Oregon. Portland is a cool town, and was ripe for a visit from the reality series. While no specific premiere date has been given for the next season of The Amazing Race, it will retain its usual time slot of Sundays at 8pm. It will follow 60 Minutes (and the senile rants of Andy Rooney) and precede Cold Case.

As a long-time fan of The Amazing Race, it's about time I stop worrying about the show's future. There are always rumblings that this will be the final season of The Amazing Race, but it keeps chugging along. The truth is, CBS may discontinue the series eventually if it has a full schedule they are happy with, but that will never happen. There will always be a place for a reliable reality series with a solid fan base. The Amazing Race: please don't ever go away.
