CBS.com is reporting that Amazing Race Season 12 starts on Sunday, November 4th. They don't have the teams posted yet.

I'm excited about its return. I got used to watching it Sunday nights after the NFL.

I'm excited it's coming back too. But the timeslot sucks. With the inevitable football overruns, you never know what time the damn show is going to start.
Travelpat
They have the team bios up now on the CBS website for Amazing Race 12. The gay, or should I say lesbian content, will come from married ministers 'Kate and Pat'. And unlike me - the 'Pat' on the show is a she.

Definitely looking forward to an exciting season ahead. Plus they are going to some new and different places.

There might be more gayness than you think...

Ari & Staella

Ari: Long Beach, CA
21, Waiter

Staella: Fountain Valley, CA
24, Restaurant Manager

Ari is catty and not afraid to speak his mind, while Staella won't hesitate to flirt her way to the front of the pack. Staella describes herself as honest, trustworthy and caring. She enjoys working out and dancing. Ari describes himself as mean, rude and hilarious, and enjoys dancing and talking trash to people. (Sigh)

I ALWAYS look forward to this show. Yeah the time of the evening isn't that grand, but thats what the record button is for. smile.gif Read a cool story in my paper a few months back. Turns out one of the cameramen from the Show is from Spokane, and he won an emmy for his photography work on the show. smile.gif
hockeyTom
Just got done watching the new installment from last night. Looks like this is going to be another fun group of people. I think we are and were well represented in the groups. In addition to the lesbian Ministers, I believe there were at least 2 other guys in our camp on 2 different teams, at least I think. The goth twins are a TRIP....looked like they were having alot of fun with it. Loved the bike ride over the water on a high wire...I am not sure I am rooting for at this point. Its too early. The whiny factor though for this early is really high I must say....look forward to the second installment next week.
mdterp01
So glad Ari and Staella got eliminated first. Ari was WAY too obnoxious and I wouldn't have been able to deal with him for too long. Stealing the taxi was so crass and I am so glad their asses arrived last!!! YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK!!! GOODBYE!!!
George Twins fan
That was the BEST first elimination ever! I could not stand weeks of that stupid little queen.

I just love Ireland so I was happy to see them there last night. And dealing with animals is always such a pain! Some of those donkeys wanted no part of that task. I've grown tired of so many of these reality shows, but I can't see ever tiring of this one.
The-Ultimate
I agree with HockeyTom in there's not a clear cut "Favorite" team to cheer on, but a lot of the teams seem to be fun to root for. I was viewing some of the Mat Chat on cbs.com and Nathan/Jennifer had the donkey stay put for 3 hours, i would have gone crazy too!

The show next week is at 9pm, not at the normal 8.
swiminbuff
I agree, won't miss Ari at all. Haven't picked a team to really get behind yet. The goths are a bit scary.

The "Oh My Goths" are scary looking but they don't seem that evil at all.

I feel like a Transformer when I say "My bad", but next weeks show is at 8, not 9.
Chill-Trick
It's a conspiracy! They're getting rid of all the gays! LOL

I went to Amsterdam in 2000 and remember seeing on all the houses, the "hooks" at the top center of each house and thought "that's weird, every house has that" and I had no idea what for. Tonight I found out!

Why would the kid make his poor grandfather jump the mud?
aquaman
I am really hating that older Asian man. I'd have b*tch-slapped him by now if I was stuck on his team.
hockeyTom
Aquaman, you took the words right outta my mouth. Had I been the daughter I would have slapped him. Obviously Pops is not dealing well with the change in time zones or SOMETHING!!! He called it when he compared himself to Archie Bunker though.....Amsterdam brought back fond memories of 1983....what a wonderful place! I remember the red light district so fondly. Me the silly American was a kid in a candy store and wanting to snap pics left and right, and people were like No No!! No cameras!!! I can't say I recall seeing those hooks as mentioned...I was too busy looking at everything else though! laugh.gif Sorry to see the lezbian Ministers eliminated......I do like the groups though in this installment...I think I am early leaning towards the Goths, but subject to change of course..... smile.gif
fantomas
This season is turning snooze-inducing. I'm sorry the lesbian couple lost, but they were among the most boring. It is good that people in the US get to see a loving same-sex couple though, or got to see them, since they're gone.

The father-daughter pair is painful to watch; that man just criticizes his poor daughter like there's no tomorrow. I know she may feel constrained about telling him off because of cultural reasons and so on, but I really wanted her to cuss his ass out.

The Goths are about the only interesting pair left, though I think the brother in the brother-sister pair is cute. But they're all like walking sleeping pills. Their names are more interesting than they are. I never thought I'd think back fondly about Team Guido, Rob & Amber, etc., or even miss hottie Uchenna and his wife Joyce, but I do. The folks this season are for the birds!

The lesbian ministers did not seem to be interested in competing- they were strolling not racing. I love that ditch jumping bit.

Funnier than last night's episode is to see the 5 minute clip on CBS.com of Elimination Station of Ari vs. the Ministers as they don't exactly get along yet they have to live together for a month.

The claim is that they were out of shape for the race (ya think??). One has since lost 40 pounds and claims she could do MUCH better today.

What kind of shape do you need to be in to concentrate while looking for flags on bicycles?
jaragonus
I don't think the issue is not just been in shape- the granpa might be old but he is not afraid to give it his all- the ministers did not have any energy or simply were not as interested in winnings as the others- this is a race after all- so if your going to run stay home.

Jason, of the Lorena & Jason pair, looks SO familiar. He's from L.A., so it's possible he's been on TV. Anybody have any ideas?
TheOtherFSU
I thought it was interesting to already see ads telling people to go to cbs.com and sign up for the next edition of TAR. This writer's strike is really putting everything on fast forward. Word is that CBS is scrambling to do a winter Big Brother beginning in February.
George Twins fan
They can throw together a new Big Brother pretty quickly. They own the house so it's just a matter of finding the people to put in it. TAR and Survivor would take a whole lot longer due to logisitics. I'm sure CBS has the next Survivor ready for the spring, or will at least have one ready. But TAR has been only planned for once a year so, providing it gets renewed (and based on the good ratings so far, it would seem to be a lock) the earliest we'd get TAR 13 would be the summer.
hockeyTom
Well for me, the highlight of this installment was the camel milking and watching the complete meltdown of Lorena....I got some pretty good chuckles in not so much at the frustration of several teams but by what the camels, some of them decided to put out instead of the milk. laugh.gif Specifically when the one decided to poop instead, and then when one camel baby decided she had had enough of watching everybody else, well most everybody do some milk shopping, and she decided she needed to get her own too.. smile.gif ...but Lorena just about completely lost it...I was talking to the tv and suggested maybe she whip out her own breast at this point. smile.gif Otherwise, somewhat of a blah episode, with that one big exception....in my mind.

Good to see Pops not being so overly hrash with his daughter. I imagine that hernia has something to do with it....

I still haven't decided on who I am really rooting for at this point.....one thing for sure alot of the teams just mutilated the pronounciation of the African city they went to......
swiminbuff
I agree that the Africa visit was at least interesting, especially some of the teams reactions to Africa and its poverty. The camel bit was funny, but so far this year I just can't get into like other seasons. no one I really hate and no one I really like.
George Twins fan
Ugh those blondes need to be beaten to within an inch of their skinny, vain, worthless lives. And then forced to live in Africa.

Animals have really played a big role in teams gettign eliminated so far. Too big a role in my opinion. The challenegs should be won and lost by the contestants, not by how stubborn a donkey is or how much milk a random camel has in its udders.

That's a valid point, but its only fitting that teams have to use every part of this earth to succeed in this race I'd rather see teams interact with animals than people who will lead/assist them to the next clue. Is the stubborn animal that doesn't have any milk any different than the vehicle that breaks down in journey for a team?

Once again, i thought the challenges were creative last night, it just didn't seem that interesting when the teams actually executed. Maybe they could have made teach/learn detour a little tougher
Texas Daytripper
Which team was eliminated? I totally forgot about this show. What with the AMAs and Sunday Night Football.

Team JLo Twins (the Latina sisters) were eliminated this week.

LOL, Remember Freddy and Kendra? "Ewww, this is so poor and gross"

I only got to see the second half, but it appeared as if teams were fairly moved by their experience in Africa.
If the previews deliver, next week's episode should be intense...
hockeyTom
Kind of a bland rather dull episode, IMO...really a whole lotta nothing much goin on. I will say I was impressed by the Goths. The gal said she was really moved by so much of what they saw while in Africa, and that the people they found there were very warm and friendly towards them. Other than that, the challenges weren't real imagainative, and was sorry to see Jason and Loreana go. Jason was rather cute... smile.gif
dfwAggie99
I hate that one blonde bitch. Ugh. I know the U-turn is part of the game, but I still don't have to like it! smile.gif

The eye candy this season is so few and far between...Jason wasn't gorgeous or anything, but he's better than underwear-sportin' Gramps! laugh.gif
swiminbuff
This seasons personalities are pretty bland, and the show so far as been a bit of a snooze fest. Other than the blondes there is no one I truly dislike and have only the goths to cheer for. I agree that the challenges are not that intriguing or seemly very difficult either.

The guys in Lithuania are HOT !!!

My GOD, Phil can work any pair of pants.

Agreed

That red head in the university square was stunning.

This was a much better and more intriguing episode as all the teams seemed to fluctuate several times to the front and back of the pack.

I wonder if the 23yo pilot is going to learn in the 2nd half of the Race on how to be pilot with the travel agents and airline workers to get help.
NoLongerHere
Wha??!? They show the blondes walking off in the sunset holding hands... What do they deserve to earn such a good edit?!? I think the race is getting good, actually, and have a hunch that one or more of these teams is going to win us over...
fantomas
Maybe I watched a different episode, because I didn't see one hot Lithuanian at all, but anyways, I'm so glad those Cali blondes are outtie. The shorter one was extremely annoying, the taller one's face was drooping more and more severely every episode, they behaved badly more than once, and it was time for them to go.

They shouldn't have received that cutesy endshot, but I guess the networks felt they had to make up for the fact that two "babes" were sent packing. The father-daughter team's interactions are sometimes painful, but even worse is the youngish (not hippie) couple, the dark-haired guy and blonde women. The guy hauled off and called her a "b*tch* tonight when she interrupted his counting the fence posts, and yes, she was being childish and obnoxious, but still...God help that relationship down the road.

I'm surprised he didnt tell her to shut the F*** up, cause I would have had a hard time not pulling a picket off the fence and hitting her. Damn she was annoying. I hope on next weeks challenge in the paddle boat he either pushed her overboard or jumped overboard himself and swam away. That relationship is shot.
Nice that the blondes can go back to their "privileged lives of facials, manicures and pedicures". Father daughter team and sometimes hard to watch, not sure why they picked stilts over counting, but glad dad wasnt hurt too bad in all his attempts. Guess I'm rooting for the Goths as they seem the most level headed of all the teams.
The-Ultimate
Not sure if you guys picked up on this, but along with the Blondes walk into the sunset last night went the last of the all-female teams this season. Motivation for yet another season.
Texas Daytripper
!!! Holy $hit !!! When the "Blondes" were backing up, and almost had a bus hit 'em, broadside. I totally LOLed.

I almost feel badly for Jen and Nate ...sucks they were dissed by the taxi dude.
Phil was cracking me up walking around with an extra button, or two?, undone at the top of his shirt.
The scenery is beautiful ...the shot of Kynt scaling the church wall?!? Wow... the detail on the church was so impressive, and then the background from the area where the cross is... Amazing.

George Twins fan
So Kynt and Vyxen are supposed to be Goths right? Since when are pink cowboy hats Goth? unsure.gif

Jen is such a freakin' nag! Nate doesn't help matters much but she is too much.

I still don't understand why Nick chose his grandfather to run this race with.

Croatia sure did look beautiful!

jaragonus
The Amazing Race is a stunningly photographed show.
TheOtherFSU
Sad to see the goths go.

But happy to see a commercial for Big Brother returning Feb. 12th.

Texas Daytripper
Does anyone else notice how Nate gropes and adjusts himself? Lovin' how the camera men catch him doing it.
NoLongerHere
Wow, Ron & Chrstina scooched right in at the end to squeak right into first place.
Nate and Jen seemed to get along for a minute. Then they didn't.
Gramps has quite a narrative arc building, too. Interesting plot development this week.
CHIathlete
I missed Amazing Race – we were channel surfing between Desperate Housewives and that Traveling Pants movie. What happened??!
