OK - so this is really an NFL Week 11 story - but I thought everybody would get confused if I started a Week 11 thread before Week 10. lol.
In Week 11 NBC has changed games and now the prime time Sunday night game will be the New England at Buffalo game that was originally scheduled for 1:00PM on CBS. It replaces the Chicago at Seattle game that was originally scheduled for that night. Some obvious reasons - the fact that both the Bears and Seahawks have had disappointing seasons thus far obviously entered the equation - and the huge interest on New England's quest for the perfect season is obvious.
But as a Bills fan I would like to think that their vastly improved play and the expectation of a good football game came into the equation as well. And I'm sure that anybody at NBC who happened to watch the Monday nighter earlier this year when the Bills hosted the Cowboys, must love the idea of being able to televise a prime time game from Buffalo. The atmosphere created by the over the top exuberance of the Bills fans that night - their fist home Monday night game in something like 13 years - made for great television. The ESPN crew throughout were making comments about the unbelievable crowd and at times even shut-up for extended periods of times (shocking - I know) - so that the home audience could take in the crowd. Even Tony Romo when interviewed on field immediately after the game ended made reference to how great it was to play in a game in front of a crowd like the one there that night.
So blueraider you and all Bills fans now have an extra 7 hours of tailgating time to get ready for the Bills first ever appearance on NBC's Sunday Night football. And I'm sure all those extra beers consumed throughout the day should make for an even more INSANE crowd that night - if that is possible.
