I heard alot of it this afternoon on "Hardball" Chris Matthews was just besides himself and ga-ga over the speech O'Bama gave on Saturday night in Des Moines. He played alot of select cuts, on his show this afternoon, and was just salivating at what O'Bama was saying and the effect it could have on his campaign. I gotta tell you, what I heard, was pretty close to brilliant. He never attacked anyone by name but said some things I haven't heard from him. Matthews even went so far as to say he heard some Martin Luther King in some of the speech. Now thats saying something.!!...coupled with his performance on " Meet The Press" yesterday and its all anyone is pretty much talking about. I am reenergized about O'Bama...I would suggest you check out youtube and see if you can pull it up. What I heard was truly some speech.....

O'Bama? Is he black Irish?
I didn't hear the speech but I did hear his wife give an interview and she said some pretty stupid things, basically getting on blacks who aren't supporting her husband. She said something like "hopefully they'll wake up" or some such thing. It's as if she expects blacks to vote for Obama simply because he's black. Just ridiculous.

I love it! Sounds like a great tactical response to the
"Osama (I mean Obama)" crowd. He can't be "secretly a Muslim", he's Irish! Hey, whatever works.

Just read the transcript. Looks like what he has needed to be doing all along. Wonder if the recent flack about that silly Novak column inspired some fire in his belly.
Good that he makes a forward-looking speech like that. But bad that he calls out the Clinton campaign for something they may not have had anything to do with. Would have been better to take the high road and ignore Novak as the sleaze-bag he is until he actually comes out with some facts.
The whole pathetic mess for now seems less like swiftboating of the Barack campaign than Novakaining of the Dems race for the nomination.

Too bad though he got completely tripped up on the same drivers license for illegals question that tripped up Hillary in the Philly debate though. While answering he was all over the place, and I was like shut up Barack, just answer yes or no to the question! He completely blew it there. This was the most recent CNN debate on Thursday night.

I understand Barack is giving this speech, the one where he goes totally unscritped for the last 40 minutes of his speech totally unscripted, in New Hampshire, and it is electrifying people whereever he goes. David Broder in my Sunday newspaper was totally wowed by it and him.

The hype about Obama really isn't that substantiated. What's different about this speech from the hundreds/thousands of other rhetoric-stacked speeches about "change" and "making a difference in Washington" that Bush did in 2000 and 2004? He doesn't touch on any policy changes, he just tries to rally the crowd and use a lot of vague promises. I'm sorry, I like Obama a lot for his passion and intensity but his positions on issues are not strong enough for me.
