The latest issue of the Chicago Free Press has an article (with front-page color photo) on the first season of the Chicago Spin, a team fielded by the Chicago Gay Hockey Association.
Oddly enough, I don't see the article on that page....

Yeah, I forgot that they change the pages every week and don't have an "archive" section.
Here's the team web site (and no, I'm not on it, just thought you guys would like to know about it) ... Chicago Gay Hockey Association
The site also quotes coverage from the Daily Herald, a general-interest suburban daily.

Hey guys, I am part of the CGHA, and wanted to let everyone know that we are starting our second season playing in a house league at the Glacier Rink in Vernon Hills this Monday the 24th.
We've gotten a lot of great press coverage lately; we were even approached by the Fox Morning Show to do a little segment, but were "bumped" for (of all things) a Bobby Brown story.
It's been quite a learning experience starting something new like this. Despite a pretty thriving gay sports scene in Chicago, there are barriers to getting people to come out and play hockey (equipment, weird ice times, etc.) But we're pretty happy with the support we've gotten so far, and we're looking forward to building the group even more in the future.
