Okay, I looked at the Ritz theaters website and the movie is listed as opening Friday 12/16 (as suspected). You can order advance tickets online at their website for shows through 12/15 right now. So I assume we can order tickets as early as tomorrow for 12/16, as early as Sunday for 12/17, etc. So, anyone who wants to see the movie as a group -- if interested, list a couple of choices for what days/approximate showtimes work best (because there may be demand, so we may not get our first choice) and we'll see if we can pull this together.

It's interesting that the tickets online are still not available at the Ritz website. For Friday on it says "We have not yet finalized showtime information for this theatre on this date. Please check back later for more information." We were discussing this last night at the bar, and scottie thinks they may be deciding which movies go to which theater (and which movies are just gone) to maximize the audience -- for example, the theater was virtually empty when he saw "Rent" recently. So it would either be removed or moved to a smaller theater.

I didn't make it to NY last weekend so I'll need to see it here. Unfortunately I have to fly down to Dallas on Sat and back on Sun so I'm hoping to catch it here late on Fri after work. The Ritz or the Cinemark by my house, either is fine with me. I can't wait.

A Brokeback fan site lists the Ritz East and Ritz Five as both showing the film. I checked their website and it looks like it will be on 2 screens at the East and one screen at the Five.

I just noticed that -- they put up the schedule today at
their site.
So...do we have any firm interest in doing a group outing? If so, check showtimes and pick some options...and hurry before it sells out. wink

I'm thinking about hitting the Saturday 11 am matinee at the Landmark Century. w00t.

Just bought tics for the 10:30P Fri show at the Ritz in Voorhees (its right by my house, sorry to skip out on downtown showings). Wonder how many people will be there?

We just purchased our tickets to the 3pm showing at the CinéArts in Evanston. We love this theatre, they show art house films right next door to their 'mainstream' theatre house. Both sides have stadium style seaing, which I guess most theatres have now.

Afterwards, it's on to the CMSA sports holiday party at Wrigley Field. :-)

It's on 4 screens at the Cumberland here in Toronto. I'm aiming for one of the Sunday screenings. Can't make it until then as I have to work tomorrow and have Christmas parties both tonight and Saturday night.

It was given a great review in the Toronto Star today. The headline 'A Love Story'.
