Just got home from playing football in San Francisco.
So. Very. Sore.
Why, why are there so many stairs in this house??
Congrats to L.A., again. They are a good squad. I had a lot of fun meeting guys from all the teams. The competition was tough and a whole lot more rough than we ever anticipated. Next time, Chicago will bring more than 9 guys. We could hardly stay on our feet by the time we got to the final, but it sure was a good time.
Thanks again to the fellas from San Fran for hosting!

We also had a great time. The competition was great and everyone was cool. My arm is ready to fall off, though, after throwing so many passes for LA.
LA beat Chicago in the final.
LA beat Atlanta and Chicago beat Boston in the semis.
Atlanta beat SD and Chicago beat SF in the wild card round, while Boston and LA got byes.
I hadn't realized that the CurtJ from the board was the same tenacious #13 from Chicago who was trying to sack me all weekend! He did once grab a part of me that was not my flag but just a tad lower and I almost became a soprano. wink
We will be posting a complete story plus a bunch of photos later this week.
Next tourney is Columbus Day Weekend in Boston; after that, the tourney will be every Columbus Day Weekend in rotating cities. Any cities interested in fielding teams should contact

Curt
Congrats on your team's performance in this past weekend's Gay Superbowl. I played on the LA team and was very impressed with your team's character. Undermanned, with a team of 9, and a few key players hobbling by the time you got to the 3rd game on Sunday, your team played very admirably. I would expect your team at the Boston tournament to be one of the favorites taking into consideration you'll have more players and practice time.
Take care,
Mike

Hmmm, wonder if Kordell Stewart will be the new Chicago Spin QB?
He's eligible since he now lives there.

Shucks, thanks Mike. We were just happy to still be standing by the time the final came around.
Yep, the kids here are already hatching evil plans for Boston. I don't want to talk smack on their behalf, but let's just say they'd REALLY like to be defending the title when the tournament comes to Chicago in 2004.

Congratulations to you and your LA teammates, Jim. I know firsthand from the game at the Convention how difficult it is to sack you in the pocket, and virtually impossible to block one of your towering passes.

hi curt - i didn't realize you were the same guy that turned me into a tumbleweed in the first san francisco game... it was fun meeting and playing you guys - your team earned a lot of respect from our team for gutting out the tournament with an undermanned squad. missed you at the dinner on sunday night.

Hey guys!
Curt - Wish you could've made it out to dinner with the rest of us Sunday night. The Chicago boys are a fun bunch to hang out with. Way to go knocking down Kenny. He so deserved it! wink
It was a great pleasure meeting all the guys from the different cities. I want to thank all the players and the fans for making the entire weekend such a huge success!
We've got some photos posted on our website already, but I have to admit that they're a bit SF-centric

The tournament could not have happened without Darrell. He did an amazing job in organizing. A round of applause.

Darrel, Thanks for posting your pics. I can't WAIT to hear the guys on my team explain
what happened here! Oy. It about sums up how we played on Saturday.
Poor Kenny. Takes one of the biggest hits of the weekend and his own team cheers for the guy who stuck 'em.

re: photo - i think mike was being held back from going after the "members only" jacket he spotted at the twin peaks aka "the glass coffin"...
can you believe the lack of sympathy from my team? you obliterate me and they're laughing on the sidelines...

Sorry the season is over, I was enjoying catching the Atlanta team practices in Piedmont Park every Wednesday night this spring when I was walking to tennis. Nice arms, Atlanta!
