I have meant to start this thread all week. Oops. Is anyone playing in Palm Springs this weekend? There are a couple of us Chicago teams headed out there to warm up.

BTW...there are 92 teams competing this weekend...should be a blast.

I'm playing for Chicago Surge in the B division although our uniforms say Harmony on them. I will likely be at second base most of the weekend but may get to do a stint pitching. I think teams are spread out on at least three different venues, but if we end up at the same place, introduce yourself, Marc.

Well we had a great time at the Palm Springs tourney. I can't begin to imagine a more beautiful setting for a tournament. Demuth park had really nice fields but that was marginal compared to the scenery of the mountains, blue skies and the surprisingly lush greenery around us.

We ended up winning the B minor division, to my surprise, since it was the first time our team has played since summer.

Marc, it was swell meeting you! Hope you had fun umping and didn't take no crap from nobody. You seem pretty capable of holding your own in blue.

Mike, did you hang out at one of the other parks? I didn't bump into ya.

Curt - It was great meeting you as well...Congrats on winning B-Minor (after Saturday night's debacle I didn't know if you could recover)...btw, how is Mr. Jim feeling after getting tagged in the groin?

Yes, I did have a wonderful weekend...and yes, I can definitely handle myself out there ;-)

CJ & SGM, Sorry I missed you both in PS - ended up spending 2 days in LA and then 3 more househunting in SDiego. First time I've missed the Tournament since it began! Glad you had a good time down in the desert - it IS nice isn't it? It was good to watch WGN news on SD cable - and see that you're about to set a record for cold days in Chicago. Warm yourself with memories of your win - congrats!
