Full Version: Proposed Philly Get Together at the Linc

Anyone want to check out the new football stadium (Lincoln Financial Field) for an affordable price?

I'd like to propose an Outsports trip to the Linc to see Temple football (yes, go ahead and groan, but all Eagles individual tickets are sold out, and this is a lot more affordable).

Scheduling wise, Temple plays Boston on 10/11 and Rutgers on 10/25. Tickets are $30 for premium seating and $15.00 for reserved seating. There is a $10 discount on premium seats and $5.00 discount on reserved seats if we have a group of 20 or more people. And please don't suggest "Gay Day at the Linc", one stadium per year please. However, maybe we can get the Outsports name on the scoreboard (Jim & Cyd, consider me your unpaid PR person).

Anyone interested???
sportinlife
Wow, they play the Hokies on my b-day (11/15). Think I know what present I'll be buying for myself. I'd definitely go for a premium ticket for that one.

Count me in.

Scottie, dont you have connections somewhere for Eagles tickets? Sleep with someone maybe? PF would even pimp himself out for something like that, heh... come on, take one for the team.

I checked eagle tickets on ebay. Crazy, 355 for giants tickets... christ... days left on the bidding too... damnit.

If ANYONE can get tickets, say up to 250 for 2 (fat chance)... i pay for both.. oct 5th is the only one i wouldnt be able to fly out for.

Well, Phillyfan, at least you've established your price in writing. What I'm not sure about is it $250 for an hour? 3 hours? night? You have to be clearer when offering your services. wink biggrin.gif

Any exchange of money if only for time and does not imply any sort of "sexual favors"... isnt that what the escorts say?

Yours Truely,

Try the Saints game. They're not a division rival, they're not close enough for fans to drive here (unlike the NY teams), they haven't established themselves as an elite team or a team that's won big recently (like the 49ers or Patriots), and they don't have a "name" superstar such as a Vick.

Depending on the date I may be able to attend. So far 10/11 is not good for me.
mdphl
Count me in. I'm flexible as long as I have notice. Also, we need to give PhillyFan sufficient notice. Let's try to get seats in the lower deck so JIP doesn't threaten to throw or push someone over the rail. tongue.gif

One more topic I'm bumping to see if we can lure anyone else out of hiding. wink

Phillyrunner and I were discussing this last night at the Phillies game, so I thought I'd bump this up again. It occurs to me that if the Phillies get into the National League Championship Series, there could be a conflict for 10/11, which is a 2 pm game. Don't know if the NL or AL game that day will be in the afternoon. The 10/25 Rutgers game is at 1 pm, as are their two November games, and since the World Series is always played at night there'd be no problem there.

As I don't think Temple is going to be selling out the Linc, we can probably wait until the baseball season is over. We'll know by 9/28 if the Phils secured the wild card or not and can then choose a final date for the Linc outing.

That's a safe bet...especially when they lost to Villanova, which is Div. 1-AA for football. wink
Joe in Philly
There's a tentative postseason baseball schedule in the paper today, and it says the NLCS game on 10/11 will be at 7:45 pm. Since the Temple game that day is 2 pm there'd be no conflict.
Joe in Philly
Thought I'd resurrect this to see if there's still interest and if we can set a definite date.

I'm interested JIP but can't do 10/11 -- I'll be in Phoenix home of the famous PF.
PhillyFan
True American at that....heh..

MD, that is Cowgirl weekend... you should attend the football party... which is always entertaining.

I knew it! There was a love connection that weekend! biggrin.gif

Phillyrunner also said 10/11 was bad...so 10/25 may be the date then, though that might be a problem for me...then again, I've already been there.

JIP - you have such a vivid imagination -- but I understand that. As a fellow long suffering Philly Fan we need a good fantasy life to live with all of the disappointment smile.gif

The alternate date doesn't work for me. Maybe we should plan on a joint DC-Philly get together sometime in November. Hell, we could probably convince PhillyFan to fly out for the festivities.

Any interest in this suggestion??
GatorJamie
Heck yeah!

I don't know that he'd want to fly here to watch Temple. wink But maybe you could snuggle up close to him one night in bed while you're out there and sweet-talk him into it? wink wink tongue.gif

Seriously, let's see what others think about this idea.
mdphl
Maybe the way to make the DC-Philly thing work is for us to set a date and pick a place and event. GJ, JIP - any ideas?
phillyrunner
Since mdphl and I are not available 10/11, here are weekends I am free: 10/18, 10/25, 11/10 and 11/16.

There is a chance I might be available Sunday November 2nd. That actually might be a good day for the DC-Philly rendevous. The Skins are playing the Cowgirls at 1:00 and the Eagles are playing the Falcons at 4:15pm so it makes for a nice doubleheader.

Another idea is for some of us from Philly to trek up to the Big Apple and see the Giants/Eagles game on 10/19 with our NYC outsporters.
Joe in Philly
If we want to try a joint DC-Phila gathering we should probably make that a separate thread, unless the DC people want to join us at the Linc.

As it stands now, I don't have any firm plans but I am probably going to travel to NYC for a few days and will therefore be unavailable for the Temple game 10/25. They also have games on 11/15 and 11/22.
