We spend a lot of time making fun of that question, but the basis of it - seen as the metaphor that it is - is fundamentally sound: take responsibility for what you think is the right thing to do.

I'll start the "ball" rolling by saying that he'd maybe use a metaphor or parable to explain things to us in the USA as a nation and reference Mom Earth and Pop Heaven as our metaphorical parents.

We're poisoning both right now. Pop is going to produce more and more genetically incompetent kids as we pump more pollution into him and Mom will do the same.

But Mom has the option of abortion if she thinks it is useless to bring another one of us into the world.

Either way we have to find a way to stop abusing them.

Is the current corporate control of the world the way to do that? Well I think only if it is modified by giving each individual an equal say in how that control is excercised. In short, real democracy is not only the lesser of all evils but the best way for our results to reflect our will and therefore hold us responsible for our actions.

I'm not sure what our "founding fathers" would think of that "religious" interpretation, but feel free to consult.
