This story about a NASA study of airline safety actually came out several months ago, however the controversy is just now coming to light:

This is a stark reminder that the government’s priority is catering to the corporate money interests – not the safety or well being of the American citizens.

Even if the NASA Adminstrator is correct in saying, "the survey was poorly managed," and "NASA never intended to analyze the data it collected," we should be pissed they spent $11.3 M on this survey. I know that is not even a drop in the bucket of their annual budget, but it's still a lot of money if their only purpose was "to pass its methodology to the aviation community."
