To figure skating fans (stop laughing!) he will always be Bowman the Showman. So sad to see how his life devolved.

That's sad. I remember liking him in the '92 Olympics (wasn't that the Tonya Harding-Nancy Kerrigan year?).
That was '94 
They were both in the Olympics in '92 along with, of course, Kristi Yamaguchi who took the Gold, Nancy got the Bronze and Tonya just out of contention at 4th.

Poor fella
I read in one obit that he was close to 300 lbs. at the time of his death...hard to imagine!
