Full Version: Ruiz to Galaxy...

Don't know how many people follow MLS here, but there seems to be a few.

F.C. Dallas traded their leading scorer, Striker Carlos Ruiz to the LA Galaxy for a 2nd round pick in the 2009 draft and some money.

My questions are:

-Where exactly will Ruiz fit into the line-up with already skilled forwards like Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle?

-Is Ruiz enough to allow the Galaxy to be real contenders with Beckham, Donovan and Buddle or will Ruiz be added to the list of players that end up in LA past their prime?

-How does FC Dallas figure they are going to improve their team from last year by trading their top scorer (even though it was only 7 goals) for a second round pick NEXT year?
Enigma
Does anyone get the feeling that the LA Galaxy is trying to be the "Galacticos" of North America? Like honestly... that "Experiment" failed in Madrid, you'd think they'd learn some lessons...

Yeah I agree, I mean thats why I asked the second question. it seems like the galaxy are dishing out all this money and not seeing the results. But then again Beckham hasnt been healthy really.

And they added Mathis from NY this off-season He may be past his prime, but he can still produce above average games.

I just don't know where they're going to fit all these players haha
