Isn't that lovely. A white supremacist group with their confederate flags with "White Power" and "Ku Klux Klan" writings are rallying in Jena, Louisiana. What exactly are they protesting for? Yes, it is their amenedment right to do so but umm...why? rolleyes.gif They should be added to the "People who should be shot" thread.

Fortunately, there is another group there who are protesting that the KKK go away and for racism to end.

Is that segregation group led by Huckabee? I say throw them all in traffic.

Huckabee met with a different group of white supremacists in South Carolina. He finished just behind John McCain at 30% in the primary for all his hard work.

Speaking of McCain, he's campaigning with Alabama's corrupt Gov. Bob Riley today. McCain was against the MLK Jr. holiday for a long time. Riley's a member of the Grand Lodge of Alabama, with 30,000 members, which refuses to admit even a single Black member. Riley allegedly also was involved in the theft of the election and the jailing of his Democratic predecessor, Don Siegelman, with the aid of Karl Rove and other Republicans.

Let's not even get started on Ron Paul's and Rudy Giuliani's racial/racist issues.

What a group of winners. I guess that leaves...Mittens!

Quoth the Book of Mormon:
QUOTE
Those who were less valiant in pre-existence and who thereby had certain spiritual restrictions impose on them during mortality are known to us as the negroes. Such spirits are sent to earth through the lineage of Cain, the mark put upon him for his rebellion against God, and his murder of Able being a black skin. . . . Noah's son married Egyptus, a descendant of Cain, thus preserving the negro lineage through the flood. . . . the negro are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain spiritual blessings are concern. . . . " (Mormon Doctrine, 527-28; 1966 orig. ed., changed in the current ed.; emphasis added).

What a cheery bunch. So who was cheerleader Mitt pumping up today to increase his black vote?

And who are they calling wrinkled anyhow? rolleyes.gif

I'm not a Mormon, but I met this guy about 15 years ago who was a Black Mormon, and he told me that the Mormon Church now (at that point) officially welcomes Black members, or people of African descent, meaning they proselytize among Black Americans, as well as in the Caribbean, Africa, Latin America, etc. Singer Gladys Knight is a Mormon, and sings their praises all the time. Did you know that. Anyways, supposedly the church has relented on this teaching, or revised it.

In reality, there were Black adherents to the Church of Latter Day Saints almost from the beginning, and it wasn't until after Joseph Smith was killed, I believe, that the church changed its policy. You can Google it and get more info on this.

What's interesting to me is that the news media basically refuse to discuss what the tenets of Mormonism are. I mean, shouldn't we know what a potential leader believes in? I know what Christianity in general, and what Roman Catholicism, the Episcopalian-Anglican, and the Baptist Churches main tenets are, because of familiarity with them, but I know little about Mormonism. I suspect most people don't know about it. So why aren't the media telling what it consists of? They sure are fixated on Obama's United Church of Christ congregation in Chicago, though.

Fantomas, did you get that e-mail too? I have received it three times, and each time I replied with the snopes.com link proving all those silly things they're saying about Obama are false. I've heard of smear campaigns, but this one is an all-time low. I mean, really, beating up on a guy because he attends church? First, they're on him for possible links to Muslim activity, which, the last time I checked, is still quite legal. Then, I guess he isn't going to the correct Christian church! What do these people want?
