So we will all be at least $600 richer as soon as the checks are cut. The bill is off to King George for his signature, then the money will be ours! Question is, where exactly is this refund coming if we are billions in debt? What a bunch of smoke and mirrors. Talk about voodoo economics! This administration proves once again how clueless they are to the most basic fundimentals of economics and running a nation.

Its coming from the same treasury printing press that Shrub takes about $10 Billion a month for his quagmire in Iraq, thats where its coming from, to be repaid at some point in the near future by probably the next 3 generations at least. rolleyes.gif mad.gif

ALL of us? I don't think so. Somehow, they decided that I made too much money last year blink.gif , and that I don't DESERVE a rebate check that I helped pay for in the first place..........

I keep hearing a lot of different things about the refund. I thought it was only $300 per person, and I'm pretty sure that if you make more than $75K a year, you're screwed and won't get anything. Is that true? If you make $75K a year and live in North Dakota or West Virginia it's one thing, but if you live in CA or NY, you can barely survive on that.

explanation story on the rebates specifics.

The average cost of each taxpayer of Bush's Iraq War is estimated by this website to be about $3400.00.

So maybe I'll ask for the other $2800.00, assuming I get the $600.00 to begin with. Politicians have been known to...fib, shall we say.

I've also seen estimates of up to $16,000.00 per person. Now that's a refund I could use. Let's see, that new hybrid so I can give my 10 year old Mazzy to my niece maybe? rolleyes.gif

I think I'm one of the ones getting "less than that." Oh well. Maybe it'll be enough to buy snow tires. Or chains for my tires. This Chicago winter situation is the worst I can remember for decades. Maybe I'll just put my tiny check in the bank. Not what they want me to do, but what can I say?

Well from what I've read I'll be in the "getting less than that" category. Hopefully people who have debt will use it for that or to invest it instead of getting some new Gucci shoes or a damn Playstation 3. If it is spent on something superficial I would hope that it would be on something that serves our economy well instead of buying some those lead tainted Chinese product.
