The Seven Deadly Sins That Cost the Patriots the Super Bowl

Gluttony – Hey Patsies, remember how funny it was to you and your fans when you were running up the score on opponents, throwing 50-yard bombs up 40 points? Who’s laughing now? It was never enough with you people. Never enough points. Never enough rings. It wasn’t even good enough just to be champions. You had to be the best team ever. How did that work out?

Greed – The Patriots actually filed for a trademark on “19-0” before the season ended. Bet that one’s been a big money-maker for you chowda’-heads. You can be sure Lady Justice of Sportsland read your patent application.

Sloth – The biggest play in the Super Bowl no one’s talking about occurred when Ahmad Bradshaw recovered his own fumble in the second quarter. After losing the ball, Bradshaw threw himself to the ground, flipped over the Patriots defender who had fallen on it, and ripped it away. The play typified the evening. The Giants were hungrier, playing like rabid dogs - sloppy at times, but always ravenous. The Patriots thought they could glide through the game with their superior talent. LJS made sure it didn’t happen.

Wrath – Perhaps Bill Belichick wasn’t entitled to all that disdain he emitted this season against anyone who dared question him about anything and everything after all. And it’s punishment ahoy for the nasty way he responded to his former protégé Eric Mangini leaving him for the Jets. Honestly Bill, sometimes the way you acted so petty and catty, it seemed like you were auditioning for “Mean Girls.” And Patriots fans need to understand when you start to sport that ‘everybody hates our team, so we hate everybody’ mentality, well, you’re inviting LJS to put the final stamp on your season.

Envy – Spygate. The Patriots, clearly envious of other teams’ plays, felt the need to spy on, and perhaps pilfer, the opposing sideline. Also, the Patriots were so envious of the ’72 Dolphins house, they felt the need to move in next door. However, sweet Lady Justice of Sportsland would not grant the Patsies the deed to the property.

Pride – This one needs no explanation. Now I’m just proud to be practicing my faith at the church of LJS.

Lust - Gisele, anyone?!? (vrabel and welker)

Don't you mean the Greatest Team Ever?
