I have been giving a great deal of thought lately to how I can inspire myself to continue pursuing training in the hopes of one day doing a triathlon. Of course, the challenge and overall fitness goals are great inspirations. But I wanted to take note in a public forum, the inspiration of two guys I've met through Outsports...Erstegeiger and Phillyrunner. Their advice and encouragement have often provided me with the fire to stoke my furnace. Thank you for your friendship, guys! You're a helluva coach, Erstegeiger, and I appreciate your inquiries per my training, Phillyrunner (Of course, I overlook your questionable taste in a certain NL baseball team, which will not be in first place in their division for long, if I have anything to do with it!

). Thank you both!
I have others, who inspire me from family members, friends, colleagues, mentors, and strangers even, who take time to help others with their goals. Another inspiration comes from the posters on this Board, especially those in their twenties, and who are out and proud. Even though it is getting easier to come out of the closet these days, there's still a great deal of homophobia in our society and culture. I wasn't as brave as you, when I was in college. You inspire me and will inspire those who follow you!
Before I get too schmaltzy here, I should offer a piece of advice on getting up to achieve your goal each day...Put the alarm clock on the other side of your bedroom, so you have to get out of bed to turn it off! Then...hey...you're already up!
