I am the manager of a recreational level softball team in the NYC gay softball league and am looking to fill a couple of roster spots. We are a good team but we are as much about going back to the bar after the games for a few beers as we are about playing. If you have any interest in playing, drop me a line. The season starts the last weekend in April and goes through August, depending on how far we advance in the playoffs.

For information on the league see : http://www.bigapplesoftball.com/

I signed up for the gay softball league here (as has Falconpride) so I'm unavailable. Plus it's kind of far away. smile.gif

You know Joe I actually have a guy who played with us, moved down near you but still commutes up here each weekend just because we are so much damn fun!

JiP, I can imagine you being the Ryan Howard of the Philly gay league. Outfielders move back--heavy hitter at the plate!

What's the name of your team, GTF? And, more importantly, what is the color of your uniforms? wink.gif

We are the Ballbreakers. For those familiar with us it's a most appropriate name. Our unis are kelly green.

Kelly green was the Eagles' color up until Jeffrey Lurie bought the team and changed it to midnight green. My uneducated guess is that people still prefer kelly green. Or at least older people prefer it.

Though I was a fine pitcher (even was named an All-Star) I never hit particularly well. Maybe that's appropriate.

Besides, I weigh less than Ryan Howard now. biggrin.gif

Attention New York: I am invading your town! laugh.gif I'm going to be there for the Playing for Life softball tournament on July 4th-5th, as it looks like I've managed to hook on to a team from Providence. (I even got a hotel bid accepted by Priceline -- they've always rejected me before!)

Since it's all last-minute I've got a lot of stuff to do now. D'oh!
