I only saw the first part and the beginning of Part II, but I'm loving it. I just finished a biography of Franklin, having finished both the Hamilton biography and the
Federalist Papers last year, so I am excited to see the Revolution depicted as it really was. In history class it seemed like there was an inevitable movement from the Stamp Acts to Independence, but nothing could be further from the truth. So many things could have gone differently and it is amazing that such a diverse group of men could achieve what they did.
The program itself is wonderful, and I loved that they started with his role defending the British soldiers after the Boston Massacre. It certainly throws you off the expected narrative of the rebel, but showed him to be dedicated to justice. I loved Giamatti's reaction against the British official claiming the Massachusetts courts could not be trusted to provide justice after his success.

Laura Linney's in this. Is there anyone better than Laura Linney?
The correct answer is "no."
Now there's a cult I can really sign onto!
