Where do they get this stuff? Why is she so afraid of homosexuality? And how can she launch an incendiary statement like that without giving some specific reasons why she thinks what she thinks? Exactly how are gays more dangerous? We're funnier...we take better care of ourselves? I mean, come on, sweetheart, your ignorance and hatred are showing.

Oh let's stop essentializing, gay people are as diverse as any other group. This woman is a sad, probably closeted, angry person who has to find a scapegoat. Maybe she secretly wants to dive in some muff, who knows? Maybe she was jilted by another woman, or a man, and is projecting. Maybe she wants to be a man getting turned out by a man.

She also ought to read some history, but then she sounds too stupid to she ought to do this. Numerous societies permitted homosexuality and lasted many decades. Let's start with: Ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, Indonesia before the Dutch and even after, Papua New Guinea (before, during and after its colonization), Japan during the Samurai epoch, some Native American nations, the various groups of South Central Africa (near the Congo/Angola region), a good portion of Western Europe since the early 1970s, Thailand for decades, etc.
Bryan
No more 'essentializing..'

This woman doesn't realize that homosexuality predates Christianity by several thousand years...smile.gif

I think she's 100% correct. We are a huge threat to her perception of the world and the way she thinks it should be. We gays, along with what I call "enlightened" non-gay people, are subtly and covertly changing the way people think and act. On the other hand terrorists, both real and imagined, are aiding the right wing promotion of fear across America that helps keep things status quo and dampers change.

Just yesterday morning I converted three grown men, two adolescents, one infant and several chihuahuas just during my drive from Fort Lauderdale to Aventura. I was so exhausted I had to have a third glass of chardonnay with dinner. dry.gif

"Indoctrinating young children"

To: sallykern@okhouse.gov

Hi Sally,

I just found the following remarks on a website attributed to you:

Kern argues that the gay agenda includes indoctrinating young children, “They want to get our young children into the government schools so that they can indoctrinate them...They're going after our young children, as young as two years of age, to try to teach them the homosexual lifestyle is an acceptable lifestyle ”.

Sally, you are grossly misinformed. Gay and Lesbian people do NOT 'recruit' anybody. This notion is a total falsehood.

It might be wise to re-educate yourself about who and what the Gay and Lesbian community is really all about. Then you might be able to make more fair and honest statements.

Permit me to suggest that you make a reasonable effort to meet some people in the Gay and Lesbian community.

Sincerely,

Thank you and Good luck,

Tom

I would add a PS. "please don't worry about us trying to convert you. We've talked to headquarters, and we don't feel you are nearly fabulous enough"

Sorry, but your letter, while 100% correct, would have no impact on someone like that. It would be fantastic if it did, but she is so deep in her own hatred, that she will never come out of it.

Until I read this woman's words, I had NO idea how much power I have as a gay man. My, my, my...I could aid in the destruction of our society as we know it and children too. Excellent...

I've been searching for my greater purpose; I thank this woman for giving it to me.

You can inform Sally Kern that I'm on my way...and Hell is coming with me!!! wink.gif

I think she realizes that in the near future, video from a hidden airport bathroom camera is going to end up on youtube. And this video showing that she, in fact, does have a 'wide stance' while pissing standing up.
Seriously though, she kept saying, '...fact...'. Why doesn't she come up with the facts? Because there are not any. What a mean and hateful woman.

Well to be honest, the last time I was there the hummus was pretty subpar and the tea was clearly Lipton. Definitely not up to Gay Terrorist standards.

A friend of mine who was teaching Minneapolis (who is straight, actually) was accused of "teaching homosexuality" by some parents who objected to a unit on tolerance/diversity etc. My question to her was: "Well did they learn? How did you test them?"

For what it's worth, I sent this e-mail off to Ms. Kern:

March 13, 2008

Dear Ms. Kern,

Your recent comments are hateful. Ask yourself, as a Christian, what would Jesus do? Jesus walked with prostitutes and other undesirables of society. Do you wish to be more Christ-like? I know that is my goal in life as a Christian. I would hope that you desire the same, otherwise, please stop referring to yourself as a Christian. You are not doing Jesus any favor by using his name for hate. You are not acting like a Christian. Learn to recognize the difference. Until then, if you have any doubt about what you are going to say, then simply do not say anything. Also, may I remind you that you are a mere mortal, just like me. You have no right to usurp the ultimate authority of God by passing judgment on others. Your comments are an insult to God. I will pray for your soul.

Sincerely,

Your letter to her was both intelligent and respectable. I admire you for that. Yours and many more was the best way to respond to her vile statements.
Unfortuntaly, my response wasn't quite as mature. Among other things, I called her a F*cking C*nt. A response I now regret. A knee-jerk reaction to her bigoted statement.
Next time, I'll take a few deep breathes, count to ten, and compose a more adult and appropriate response. Lesson learned.

Is it necessary to refer to this monster's gender? She did not choose to be a woman. Your c-word shows something way beyond hating what she said. It's hating her because she is a woman. A stupid woman, granted.
I equate this to calling an equally destructuve act by a gay guy a faggot or if it had been a black guy, I would expect you to use the N word. All these words that go way beyond denouncing their deplorable behavior.

ohmy gawd. Can you say misogyny?? So what that it was a woman. It could just as easily been a male, a black male. Would you have said he should get back to shoe shining????

What is it with you and race? This is the third or fourth time you've injected racism into your comments. What if it had been a "white" male? Why not use that as an example? Or a Asian male? etc. You keep seeming to find ways to either deny that Barack Obama is black or to toss out insults against black people. There are LGBTQ people of all races, and some of them are black. Your comments about misogyny were well-taken, so no need to dig a ditch for yourself and toss yourself in it.

The more I hear about this bitch, (yes Tealsea, I called her a bitch. Deal with it) I think her actual, real name is Eva Braum. This would explain a great deal.

Yes, millerbeach your right. I shouldn't have soiled Evas' memory with the comparison to this evil c*nt. Although I still think this vile woman did in fact work in a NAZI death camp.
metromathis13
I thought her use of the word "indocrtination" was an especially interesting word to use when describing schools, so I did some research. Turns out she graduated with a degree in Sociology.

Why is that so interesting? Well, any sociology major (or a psych. major who's taken many sociology/social psych. classes like myself) could tell you that schools in fact DO exist for indoctrination. Not for indoctrination into homosexuality, because as many people have mentioned, thats just a stupid thought. But, they exist to socialize students into the dominant beliefs of American culture- things like "freedom for all," "your vote always counts," "your freedoms will never be taken away," etc.

So for her to suggest, as she did in her speech, that schools only exist to teach children reading, writing, and arithmetic is simply preposterous. She needs to go back to her college textbooks and read about the secondary purpose of schools: agents of socialization that indoctrinate people into the dominant beliefs of a society.

Also, another thing that upset me in her speech was when she talked about how gay people are a bigger threat to this country than Muslims. I'm sorry, but average Muslims are hardly a threat to this country. Yes, Muslim fundamentalists who join militant movements like Al Qaeda are probably a threat to the country. But to claim that all Muslims are a threat to America is further proof (as if any were needed) that this woman is an idiot.

Immovable GLBT hater and basher, Sally Kern, benighted, will never be free of the millstone she has wrought around her very own neck. Her personal, public, and un-ending suffering has only just begun.

The most recent Sally Kern development, is that she has been provided 'counsel' from the Thomas More Foundation for 'legal representation'. She will need this in the very days ahead. An event will occur. That event will be the maiming or murder of a young Oklahoma male, who identifies as Gay. The case will be made, that Sally Kern's words instigated, at least in part, a violent hate crime. And Sally will be charged.

Is there precedence? Yes. Recall Tom Metzger/White Aryan Resistance;

From http://www.adl.org/learn/ext_us/Metzger.asp

"He has been widely acknowledged as the principal mentor of the neo-Nazi skinhead movement since its appearance in America during the mid-1980s; in this connection, he attracted nationwide publicity in 1990, when an Oregon jury rendered a $12.5 million judgment against him and his son, John, for inciting the murder of an Ethiopian immigrant by skinheads."

And, God said to Moses, at least in the Ten Commandments film version with Charlton Heston and Yul Brenner, "Go! Get Thee Down (from the mountain), for the People have Corrupted Themselves".

My second "Open Letter" (emailed) to Oklahoma State Representative, Sally Kern ®:

Hi Sally,

My specific prediction that your rant against homosexuality earlier this year has not yet come true. No young gay male in your state has been reported gay-bashed, hurt, or killed. However, I hope you can acknowledge that at least in part, you must assume responsibility for encouraging Jim Adkisson, who entered the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church during a children's performance of the musical “Annie Jr.” this past Sunday.

As you know he carried a shotgun and 76 rounds in a guitar case, opening fire on and killing two church members, Greg McKendry (60) and Linda Kraeger (61), and wounding six more before he was stopped.

Jim Adkisson's motive? He expressed hatred for gay people in the same fashion you did last March, only instead of a microphone, he used a gun. You carry a gun, don't you? Should Gay and Lesbian people fear you too? Will your own words turn into action one of these days?

Let's hope not. Again, as I encouraged you in my initial email missive last March, it will be best if you reconsider your view towards gay and lesbian people. Simply remember, that they too are people, most of whom likely don't carry guns.

Reversing your position in this matter is not only prudent personally, but smart! You can begin a whole new life, appreciating the diversity of your human brothers and sisters. Isn't this the true message of Our Lord?

Surely, you agree.

As always, best regards,
