While there is little doubt University of Florida is the pinnacle of college basketball, I thought I would touch base on the rise of my beloved MountainEERS in college athletics.
While I am certainly someone who is humble about the good fortunes that's been bestowed on WVU, allow me to take a moment to celebrate WVU's success over the last 3-4 years in football, basketball, and other sports.
Behind Florida, only a couple of schools like Texas and Ohio State have the same argument as WVU for being one of the top 5 football/basketball schools in America.
In the last 3 years of football, WVU has won two BCS bowl games and one NYD bowl games. Only LSU, Texas, Georgia, and USC have won 2 BCS bowl games since 2000.
In the last 4 years, WVU has made it to the Sweet 16 3 of those years. In 2004, WVU made the elite 8. and was a missed shot6 away from the final 4 in OT. In 2005, WVU made the sweet 16 and was a buzzer beater away from the elite 8. In 2006, WVU was NIT champs with a very young team. In 2007, WVU is back in the esweet 16,
While I have focused on men's basketball and football above, let's take a moment to acknowlege other top WVU sports
