Does anyone know if there is a gay basketball league in NYC. I know there are leagues in Boston and Chicago, but what about the Big Apple?

Go to
www.gaybasketball.com for the links to the New York teams...
There are two teams that travel on the national circuit...
By the way the next tourney is President's Day weekend (Feb.13-15th) in San Diego, The Hillcrest Classic....always a blast... you can check out
www.sandiegohoops.com for details...

I second the sentiment on the San Diego tournament, it is so much fun. Last year it was during the snowstorm on the east coast, and I was stuck in San Diego an extra day, darn it. :-) The other tournament this spring is over the easter weekend in Chicago. Definitely worth the trip to go to either, if you can't hook up with a team from NY let the tournament heads know, they will get you on a team.

Agreed. The San Diego tourney is a blast and the Chicago event is the biggest and close to my heart as it was my first. Getting on a team is usually pretty easy. The tourney directors will usually help you out if you contact them.
And I was pretty sure there was a league in NYC, but I could be wrong. Boston also has one.

I was in Atlanta a few years back for a national softball tournament and I remember running into a group of guys down there for a gay basketball tournament. The impression I got from them is that gay basketball is alive and kicking.

Yes, the Atlanta Memorial Day sports classic last year had soccer, basketball, softball, and hockey. Don't know how it's gonna turn out this year, since there has been some internal squabbling among the powers that be. But you might want to do a google search for Hotlanta Sports Classic and check it out.
