Lookin' forward to getting my big yearly rugby fix this Saturday, June 28. All day matches out at Fort Scott in the Presidio. The weather's been gorgeous lately so this should be a great day out.

Great time yesterday. Only got out for one match (leaving for London on Monday morning with an opera staging), between the "Mint" and "Midnight" teams. The heat elsewhere in the city was sweltering, but the fog (as opposed to the Fog) was blowin' across the pitch, keepin' everything nice and cool. Alice Hoglan (Mark Bingham's mom) was there, great group of guys from ALL over, Oz provided commentary, nice mixed crowd -- terrific time!

I'll second that. Was there for a couple hours but we weren't prepared for the foggy Presidio and left earlier than we would have otherwise. (Their party sat nite was fun too!)

These guys are the real deal -- unlike a lot of other gay sporting events (softball, gay rodeo) where it seems to be a requirement that gayness and camp be shoehorned into every crevice, this was simply a rugby tournment organized by guys who love rugby who happen to be gay. Best T-shirt: the Houston Roughnecks', which said "Maul Me. Ruck Me. Make Me Scrum."
