Really amazing story. Cancer, to World Series, to tonight's no hitter. Good stuff.

The first no-no of the season goes to 24 year old
Jon Lester over the KC Royals. Apparently he had never even pitched a complete game before this (he only has 36 career starts). Jason Varitek has caught a record 4 no-hitters.

Good for Lester and all that, but I'm starting to feel a bit toward no-hitters the way I do hitting for the cycle: Big deal. Lotta luck involved, and often a worse-pitched game than 1- or 2-hitters.
I also really hate the term "no-no" because giving up no runs is irrelevant to the achievement....

Congrats to Jon Lester on a great career acheivement, as well as a big personal acheivement.
I bet he'll get MLB Player of the Week.
And that was a great save that 2008 Rookie Of The Year Jacoby Ellsbury made. (presumptuous? maybe...but I'm standing by it)

It's not a career achievement.

Odd. I thought the
entire achievement of a no hitter
was giving up no runs. Silly me.

Well no not really. Theoretically (though unlikely), a pitcher could throw a no hitter and give up runs via walks and errors. At least one pitcher has actually thrown a no hitter and lost.

Hence, it's NOT theoretical, but actual. (lol at Sedition)
It was a splendid game. Just bein' accurate.

Right. How many runs did Lester walk in? Who won that game? Theory might be cute, but last night it fell secondary to reality, as it often does. I'll stick with what
did happen, as to what
might have happened.

It's official; Sox fans are as unbearable as Yankee fans.

So...we're unbearable because we are Sox fans? What's your excuse?

We are more unbearable. That is why Sox are
better than NY fans.
