The job interview actually went pretty well, thanks for asking. Everyone in the Minneapolis office was friendly and seemed interested in talking with me. I spent most of the morning being shuffled around different offices, meeting the staff etc. So I would say I got a true sense of the requirements and expecatations they have for anyone in that job...
... but I didn't leave with a real WOW factor about the position. I did mention to some people here that this was an internal transfer within the same company I'm working for. More or less I would be doing 70% the same job as I am currently, with 30% being new. There doesn't seem to be the same sense of challenge with job as a whole. And the first question everyone asked: "Why do you want to move to Minnesota?" After the first six or seven times the quirky novelty of the question wears off.
As far as city life and what not, I did tour around the various neighborhoods checking out some currently available apartments and what not. Some areas were really nice, and I actually looked at a 1br apartment near the 46th St. Light Rail Station. A bit out of my price range.... but it was fun anyway.
A couple of other places reminded Mrs. PhillyFan of, "that demilitarized zone you call Downtown Bridgeport" eek! Ok, maybe not that bad, but I don't think she would want to make that apartment hearth & home during the holidays. I probably should have asked one you guys to tag along for the fun of it.
Did get over to St. Paul on Saturday to try to catch the Wild game. I didn't realize that they were having the Zholtok tribute, so tickets were few and starting at $66. Sorry, I love hockey, but I'm not paying that much to see two teams I don't particually care about.

So I decided to get lost in the Skyway, and I ended up just eating a late dinner.
Best part of my trip though: Flirting with one of the bartenders at the Rock Bottom brewpub during football on Sunday.

Probably straight, but I did amaze him with my knowledge of corny "laffy taffy" jokes he was trying to impress other bar patrons with. Perhaps I shouldn't be so proud of that....
And no one seemed to mind on Sunday AM when I looked up the Mary Tyler Moore statue's dress or made a left turn onto Hennepin Ave and into the official biking/bus lanes. eek! People are so nice when out-of-towners do stupid things! Do I get to be added to the "People who should be shot" thread for that?
So overall it was a good experience. I can't say 100% whether or not i'll take the job, if offered, but I can't say that I won't either. Part of me feels I'm at that professional world fork in the road where neither path is lit, and I'm looking for the secret passage to career Nirvana. Rather confusing! Maybe I'll just retire to being a future hausfrau like Joe in Philly....
