When I was a kid, it was Aquaman, cause I liked to swim. Now, it's Spiderman. Why? Cause he is just f**kin' cool.
Thank you, sedition, for starting this topic!
A favorite of mine as a kid was Aquaman, too. Wherever I swam...pool, lake, ocean...I imagined I had an underwater kingdom. Spiderman was wicked cool too. He has great super hero abilities!
Other favorites were Captain America and The Phantom. Fighting Nazis, exotic locales, all set in the thirties and forties. Great stuff to fire the imagination!
My all time favorite is Batman, aka the Dark Knight. I admire him, because he doesn't have any superhuman abilities...just true grit, integrity, intelligence, and fantastic athletic abilities. His dark, brooding nature, moral compass, and gung-ho individualism are the qualities I like best in him.
Another favorite is not strictly speaking a super hero. He's The Rawhide Kid. He represents the loner going after injustice, who many suspect to be on the other side of the law, but who is really not. When Marvel outed him a while back, it came as no surprise. I knew he was gay all along!
