From the IGLA website:
Welcome to IGLA 2008
The District of Columbia Aquatics Club (DCAC) and the Washington Wetskins are proud to host this competition for a second time, particularly as 2008 marks the 20th anniversary of DCAC. Although a lot has changed since 1996 when IGLA was last in Washington, DC, the hospitality of DCAC, the Wetskins and Washingtonians still abounds. Of course, Washington offers much more than just memorials and monuments, politicians and parades; we are very proud to welcome the world to our great city.
The four-day event will include swimming, water polo, diving, synchronized swimming and open-water swimming. Pool competition will take place at the Takoma Recreation Center in Washington, DC and at the world-class aquatics facility at the University of Maryland in nearby College Park, Maryland.
Anybody here participating? Anticipating best swim times, best dives, best water polo scores, best synchronized swimming performance, best Pink Flamingo productions?
Thanks,
TRL

I'm going. I can't wait. I definitely don't expect any best times...those days are not coming back for me, but I am pretty excited to go to the meet. Should be a great time. I probably shouldn't have enter the same events I swam in college though...we'll see how it goes. Anyone else heading to the meet?

4 individual firsts and a second. 3 relay wins, which were all IGLA records and 2 of those were USMS records. The only competition in my age group was from my team and we spread our events around so there was not much overlap.
My times were good in 100 fly (personal best), 100 IM (3rd fastest time), 50 breast (fastest in 3 years), 200 free on the relay (2nd fastest time ever), 100 free on the relay (fastest in 4 years - 2nd fastest overall). I was not happy with 200 IM (3 seconds slower than my all-american swim last Dec) or the 50 fly (not a bad time, but I just never felt in synch, as you have to be for fly).
Had a nice time with my team. Most of the guys were gay, but most of the females were straight. (by "were" I don't mean they were straight before the meet and now they are not). Pretty well organized meet.
