I like Obama's first TV ad a lot. It's very simple but very effective and allows him to define himself rather than letting the Repugs define him. The ad begins running today in select markets in 18 key swing states. I think it's smart that his campaign is beginning to advertise within weeks of getting the nomination rather than waiting until after Labor Day.

Very upbeat and positive. A winner. smile.gif

I find it incredible that these cheesy things can work...but apparently they do.

What I loved about it is that it came acrossed as one of the most sincere and least forced political ad I have ever seen.

He is either very true to what he says or one hell of an actor- or both.

I've seen McCain ads on a regular basis for at least a week now. It's gonna be a looooooooooong campaign...

I like Obama and hope he wins the presidency, but am I the only one who shuddered upon hearing his second sentence? "America is a country of strong families and strong values." I suppose that's not quite the same as saying "America is a country of strong family values", and all the intolerant right-wing connotations of that tiresome phrase, but it certainly seemed like a deliberate appeal to conservative voters. Otherwise, the ad was fine.

I dislike ALL political ads, not just Republican ads.
