I'm a big fan of Mystery on PBS. I watched the very first season over twenty years ago with Vincent Price as the host. The first show took place in the twenties. The best by far was when Diana Rigg took over as host. Her first season started with Mother Love and starred her, David McCullam, and James Wilby of Maurice fame as her son. Watch it, if you haven't seen it. I still can't look at marzipan in the same way! sad.gif

Currently, Alan Cummings is the host. The first in the line up is Inspector Lewis, Series I. His sidekick is played by Laurence Fox, who is a bit of a fox himself. He played a German officer in the series Island at War. He's also the nephew of Edward Fox of The Day of the Jackal. Another uncle is the husband of Princess Margaret's daughter (Ha! That island is incestuous!).

You can see why he might play a German officer!

With Inspector Lewis

Future installments will include the Inspector Lynley series, starring Nathaniel Parker as an aristocrat slumming as a copper. His looks are very much "to the manner born."

Soulful Eyes

They're very good actors.
