Story here.

IMHO, he was one of the good guys at FOX & CNN. I met him once a while back while I was attending a Democratic fundraiser, and he was such a charming and genuinely nice person. I also got the feeling that he left President Doofus's administration not just because he was diagnosed with colon cancer, either, but because of additional reasons that led to his disenchantment, shall I say. wink.gif

To pass away at 53 and leave 3 young children and a wife is hard. This strikes home a bit with me because I've had relatives die of colon cancer, and my father refuses at his age to even get tested for it, the idiot!

Yes, he was a down to earth guy.

Deaths of high profile persons often serve as examples for others to get tested for the particular affliction that caused their deaths. Let's hope there'll be an upsurge in testing for colon cancer, and that your father gets tested, Crew Chief. Have you been tested?
Crew Chief
Indeed, I have. I surely didn't want to be a hypocrite and urge others while not getting it myself. I actually had a full scale colonoscopy a few years ago because I had some symptoms (blood in the stool, family history, etc.), but fortunately, everything checked out A-OK. Nothing but a false alarm.

I'm not in my 50s or 60s yet, so I don't have to get tested as often, but I will definitely keep myself abreast of my own situation.
