Any CA Outsporters feel the earth move?

I've always wanted to experience one.

Heck, I love it when a storm forms in the gulf with a possible US landfall.

I'm a freak for natural disasters.

And no I'm not making light of them. I know they kill.

I experienced Hurricane Rita. And don't want to ever go through something like that.

Earthquakes are earthquakes. I was teaching a small group of staff members today when it arrived and it jolted pretty good. Our building is on rollers, so it felt like a skateboard moving side to side.

My house is about 7 miles from where it hit and nothing happened. Everything still in the same place.

I loved the video run on TV this morning of the earthquake being felt in the studio where "Judge Judy" was being taped. She high-tailed it out of there, as did the bailiff and the audience, leaving the two antagonists just standing there looking around in bewilderment. It was very funny!

Such a storm has formed and has made landfall in Texas. Though nothing major (it's only a tropical storm) it's exciting to be experiencing it.

It just seems to be a rain maker, which is very much needed. We've been in minimal drought conditions all Summer. So we'll take all the rain, we can get.

I hope my fellow Houstonian Outsporters are doing well.

I hope all is well in S. California...

The Mexico/California earthquake today has been "upgraded" to 7.2, with a number of aftershocks following. There was a reported 3 (upgraded to 4.1) earthquake in the Santa Monica Bay/Malibu area.

Hope our California Outsports friends have got their earthquake supplies ready at home. You never know when the big one's going to happen.

Tbbucsalstott was in LA over the weekend and texted me right after it happened. He said it was strong enough where he was to slosh water from the pool over the edges.

Been since '89 (Loma Prieta) since I've felt one. The little ones are almost fun; the bigger ones, not so much.

I am on the third floor and it shook pretty good, but nothing fell down. I am in LA, a ways away from the epicenter.
