Granted, it's the exhibition season but this game is the one where most teams give their starters the most work. Next week the starters will play very little, if at all. So it's the one exhibition game that can give you a glimpse of the possibilities. Soooooooo....Tom Brady sat out again tonight, and the Eagles' starting defense held the Pats' starting offense to 56 yards in the first half. The one drive the Pats had that resulted in 3 points in the half was helped by a pass interference call.
As if that weren't enough the Eagles' starting offense moved the ball pretty well even without Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown. They scored 10 points and had another TD overturned on replay when it was ruled that Hank Baskett didn't have control of the ball before he broke the plane of the end zone, changing a TD to a fumble out of the end zone and a touchback.
Late in the first half after the Pats' FG Quintin Demps took the ensuing kickoff 101 yards fora TD. The Pats went 3 and out, punted, and DeSean Jackson ran the punt back 76 yards for a TD on the final play of the half.
Boston fans had better start praying madly for Brady's health.
